  1. All of a sudden after moving the car in my drive an hour before and all was fine went to move it back and she will not start or run unless my foot is on the gas keeping her at around 2k rpm. smell gas !!!!!! let my foot of the gas she dies......

    NO ENGINE Lights on ????

    2003 RX 300 80k mint cond.

Most likely IACV. Just do a search here for "IACV" for more info than you will ever want to know.

Well removed the IACV it was stuck could not move the magnet, sprayed carb cleaner down the hole in the throttle body truned the magnet by hand a bunch of times till it was free and smooth.

Car know runs fine........wow Thanks so much for the help. That took all of 15 min to do and I am sure Lexus would have banged me for that.....

  2. Hi All, Well I have had my 02 Rx300 for allmost 10 months and love it! no probs till now. all of a sudden I have this light on my dash. its the headlight leveling warning light?? Does anyone have a idea what this means?

The headlights do move to there position when the car is started like allways?

  3. I have noticed that my trans is not shifting to o/d when the car is very cold. . today it was very bad. I was gettiing on the hiway that is about 1/2 mile from my home doing 50mph the car was doing 4k rpm and did not shift to o/d untiil a good mile or so.......I did change the trans fluid at around 60k 5 months ago.

was wondering if a trans fluid cond would hepl?

Tranny fluid in our cars has to reach 153 degrees to operate normally.

Thanks guys thats good to know my trans is not on the way out!

  5. The 15/16 plugs are for what they refer to as the transfer case.  That takes gear oil.

The 10mm hex (there are 2) are for your transmission drain and front differential drain.  The transmission one faces down and the differential one faces sideways.

The front diff and transmission both fill through the transmission dipstick tube and both take Toyota T-IV tranny fluid.

    Hope that helps.

    Tom

Thanks, I just want to change the Front Diff gear oil to syn. SO that would be Just the two 15/16

    plugs right ,Gear oil.

  6. I have a 2002 rx300. went crazy with this a few months ago. I was told by one dealer you need to take off half of the rear cargo panels on the drives side find a conncetor. I did this found a connector that was not the right one.

The bad news you need the little wire harness kit from Lexus $200.00. Comes with a blue relay switch with you do not need, and a wire harness. after getting the kit & wire harness no one at the dealer could tell me where this connector plugs in. They sent me to another dealer who installs hitchs

and said they could tell me? So after driving all day went to the third dealer and begged them to

have someone show me where the connector is for the wire harness! presto!

right under the back of the car there is a black plastic box. remove the four 10mm bolts take off the

box there it is! the connector!!!! just plugin the wire harness, put the cover back on.

One more thing! there is a fuse that has to be put in under the hood fuse box, there is a empty

spot that says trailer lights.! Your done takes about 15mins. after days of calling and running

    around!

  7. I am a bit confused about the drain plugs on the front diff? On the Diff it self I found the blue fill

plug half way up facing back 15/16th .A drain plug down a bit facing towards the pass tire.15/16.

But there is one more 10mm hex plug on the bottom is this for the diff also ?

    very confused!!!!!

  8. I have Purchased a 2002 Rx300 a few months ago w/50k on it. Runs & rides like silk ! I have been

working on cars for 35 years doing most of my own work. I wanted to change the Transfer case

oil & rear diff oil to Syn Amsoil. wondering if this is ok, if anyone has had any problems after the change? I went to one of those oil change places and wanted them to do it just to save the pain

of it. They siad i should not change over that the seals could start to leak?????

I have use syns In most of my other cars and never had a prob but they just spooked me a bit.
