  1. passenger door, darn what I did was reset the ecu!
  2. will this fit in a 92 ls 400, he also has a 94 with 157k but I have not asked his price yet on that one! thanks
  3. went to start car this am noticed that all the lights were out so I knew the battery had been drained, must have left the lights on. This happens alot :whistles: I usually drag the designated starter car up to the ls and bango it starts today nothing no solenoid clicks or anything.. The only thing different about this and all the other jumps was that when I put the cable on the + terminal the alarm sounded.. So did I engage the anti theft system and its distrubed the power to the solenoid? If so what the do I do to get it running again thanks tr
  4. its the rear main seals in my case, damn! how much is that going to cost! anyway once again thanks
  5. I'll do that! Did you go out and take the picture just for this, if so thats crazy! I mean crazy in a good way and I hope that I can return the favor someday! tr
  6. yea I'm going to have to lift the monster up and look at the oil pan!
  7. once again thanks. I have a question though when lexus did the oil change do you think they did a complete drain or just the drain and fill?
  8. ok now I'm going nuts, had the car warm and running checked the fluid and its I think right at the top of the hot section. I say I think because I have to actually wipe the dip stick to see the oil it looks sorta red but its hard to see on the dip stick. Shouldn't it be a little more visibile? thanks again guys. tr
  9. ok got a mini-itx car pc, was really bored (had already added gps, mp3 player and various other applications) and saw an ad for a verizon broadband nic and I started thinking I could create my own onstar type system! Please note I was already a verizon customer.. The verizon bb nic is fast if within coverage area and useable in out of coverage areas. Since some of this depends on having a obd2 car and my current ls is a 92 I had to do this in my 1998 ford exploder (i know, i know a ford). this is the beauty of a mini-itx based pc if you can think of it you basically can do it.. the only thing I added besides the verizon bb nic was an obd2->usb2 module. So with this (skipping lots of details) I can now monitor the health of the exploder and more importantly I can figure out if the wifes coming or going... Tomorrow I'll be working on the unlocking solution! beyond that I've started running out of ideas, no I can't quite do the post collison detection part yet either. Verizon does limit the type of traffic (can't do voip) and amount of traffic (can't stream video) but I can get around most of these issues.. Anybody have anything else they can think of?
  10. I think akewlguy is saying they overfilled it they should fix it!! but I'm going to do it your way its much faster, once again thanks guys!
  11. thanks guys, nc211 love your avatar!!! dfkd the tranny was warm but this time I'll check it with the car running! tr
  12. on a warm car I took the trany dipstick out and the oil was above the top marker by about an inch! is this bad? I've noticed some oil (can't tell what oil it is) on the floor of the garage, usually this happens after a couple of long wot's.... This car was serviced by lexus 3 months ago. its a 92 with 78k miles. thanks tr
  13. ok after looking over the issue I decided to screw the oem look, I'm going to add a mini-itx based touch screen unit. Take a look at mp3car to get the basics. It won't have a cd/dvd drive at all it will be completey usb and wifi driven with a 2.5" hd for storage. It will cost more but it will be much more functional, I can easily had a high quality gps etc... The real trick is tipping the thing at the right angle so that I can see the darn thing, and no I won't be watching movies.. good luck everybody!
  14. also the guy at cureline had this http://www.cureline.net/lex/audio/howto_wiring_daigrams.htm
  15. ok the unit is not a pioneer ip-bus compatible unit, darn! But it looks like its only signaling 5v so I just have to put a logic analyzer on it.. My time is being taken by two young kids so I'm not exaclty sure when I'm going to have time for this.
