I basically had the same thing done for my 2002 ES300:

I had it glassed to fit a good head unit since I wanted it to look 'factory'. It was then painted (along with the bezel for the climate control to match). I don't know how good it would look if you used a kit inside the levinson faceplate to accomodate a single din head, but as long as there aren't any gaps, a double-din might look pretty good.

P.S. JML Audio in St Louis did the work. They have more pictures of my car showing some of the other things that have been done. They aren't cheap but they do excellent work... Highly recommended!

I'm looking to change the head unit on my '02 ex300 from a "premium" to a standard DIN head unit. Problem is, I can't find a dash kit for this car. Does anyone know of one, or does anyone know of someone who makes a custom?
