  1. Thanks. Will do. Security system also non-functional, so may be a clue. Fuse #21 (handles keyless plus other stuff) seems OK, e.g., dome lights work. Taking car to Japanese garage this AM to see if they can figure.
  2. I also use keylessride and for same reason. Heck of a lot cheaper than Lexus dealer which wanted close to $300 for one key with programming. Fob has further advantage of being able to work at greater distance than stock transponder key, at least if owner's manul is correct. I'm just having problem getting fob to work, as I've posted. Keyless tech is trying to help. Good luck.
  3. Now am able to get car in progrmming mode, but still no response from the remotes. Remotes on fobs from keylessride and FCC ID seems correct. Batteries check OK fine. Tried all buttons of both fobs. Working with keylessride tech to try and figure what's the problem.
  4. You're so right. I found it this time also. Thanks. Question remains, however. :)
  5. I have an 95 SC-300. I had saved the following entry from a previous post on keyless entry, but can no longer find the post using the search engine. With reference to the last sentence below, I am unable to find any switch as described. I have transponders purchased for this car, but following the progamming sequence which came with the transponders, and which is identical to that given further down in the post from which I quote below, nothing happens. No lock sequencing, no beep. Just silence. If there is a switch and I could find it, perhaps that would solve the problem. It's as if the system's been turned off. Thanks for ideas. Following from earlier post which I cannot now find: “Umm, all lexus SC's had keyless entry on the key itself stock. ... . Also, there is a switch beneath the steering wheel on the lowest dash panel that will activate and deactivate keyless entry on the SC's”
  6. Hi, gotta add to the hammer aspect of this string. I had a Jaguar XK-150 and used to carry a hammer up front in order to pound the floor boards in front of passenge seat to get the car running again when the electric fuel pump, located under that area, would cut out, stalling the car at inconvenient times. Brought some strange looks from passenger, but worked. Also, I miss the crank which I had on the Truimph TR-3. Used many times for starting. :)
  7. Greetings. New here, but let me add a comment. I'd recommend adding eBay to your search. I did it. You can check feedback of any seller from all who bought. Search engine is excellent. For most good lexus, there are many photos and often very good descriptions. Track the Lexus SC300 or SC400 action for awhile. Note the percentage under blue book they tend to go for if you decide to bid. Don't get into bidding war, which will just drive up price. Be patient. You can ask sellers any questions. I believe eBay also protects your purchase of an auto for some amount. $10000 sticks in my mind, but that may be in error. Some have CARFAX reports included. Also, some have 30 day power train limited warranties included free. Mine had both with many detailed photos and detailed descriptions. Some dealers also allow you to decide not to buy upon seeing car after winning. Depends on dealer. Just an option to consider. I know that some would hesitate, and I understand that; but, I am very satisfied. Excellent experience for me. Good luck.
