  1. Most likely it's coming from your tires. Get them balanced and checked out to make sure you have enough tread all the way around.
  2. Hi Carl, First of all, relax. Second of all, this is the SC model forum not the GS model forum. Now on to the question. I have no idea what you mean by the car coming to a standstill. If it is still driveable, take it to your nearest auto parts store and tell them that you have a check engine light and need them to read the code for you. They will ask you model and year of vehicle and grab the appropriate equipment to read your check engine light code. Even if the car is running fine, the light is on, etc. at the time, they will still be able to read the code. Once you know what the computer says is wrong, it can give us some insight into helping you solve your problem. But I suggest taking it to a dealer or authorized mechanic to do your repairs.
  3. I was lucky to pick up my '99 with 43k :). No problems so far but I've only had it a couple of weeks.
  4. You should try the wheel and tires forum. The short answer is that these wheels will not be a good idea without some modification. For SC300/400 models, don't go with less than +40 offset if you want to be safe.
  5. I just bought a 1999 SC300. The car has a pretty audible humming noise when driving in top gear. The problem doesn't occur in gears 1-3 (almost quiet as a whisper) but comes up in 4th (4-spd automatic). I pretty sure there is a problem with the CV joints already (there is a pop noise when I turn the wheel after coming out of reverse) but I don't think these two are in anyway related. Any suggestions on what this could be?
