  1. hi,

    just made it on my sc400 not myself but at the dealer. anyway i don´t know exact procedure but i suggest you to change waterpump as well it cost me 66$ only and old one was totally off with 104k miles. I hope someone tells you about this procedure it´s not hard but has to be done properly, last owner of my car screwed one of the pully bolt so tightly that mehanic couldnt get it out without damaging the screwhole. It was unpleasent surprise...hope you will do it ok.

  3. don´t know about sc430 but sc400 can handle with snow no problem as said good tires and slow accelerating comes with it! In my area is snow on the road at the moment and somtimes it´seven fun!

    Ofcourse there is lot´s of cars which can do it better in the snow but I personally can´t resist the sc400.

  4. I got good lesson which i´d like to share with you. After I filled up my fuel tank i parked my sc 400 inclined to the fuel lid and it was very big mistake... Today morning I opened the door and it was nightmare... there was such of gasoline smell I couldn´t survive. As you know gasoline steam is highly explosive, some bad coincients (bad connections etc) and you don´t have the car any more. I think I know the cause of this leaking, fuel tank is behind the back seat and apparently fuel leaked out down to the back seat because tank was fulfill. I hope that smell is gone afrer while and of course I never will do it again.

  5. depends which way you like to ship it? by air? by sea?

    by air i´ll give you just a clue aroud 4-6$ per/kg now if you count engine weight around 200++up kg depends which components you have on it.. you do the math.

    btw how much for the engine in japan? new one? rebuilt? used?

  6. :))) jeah you dont understand my problem. I´ll try once again to spell it.

    inside the car, left side below the dash I have fuel lid opener and trunk relase button but between of these two I have lock which is for locking trunk relase button for security I quess... I explane how it should work: if I push this lock down I cant open trunk inside of the car. Now if i´d like to open trunk from inside of the car I have to turn ignition key in this lock and it relocks the trunk opener..

    damn it is hard to explane i´ll try to get photo for you

  7. I can´t agree with you as mush I experienced and read about lexus it is one of the best cars out there...but it is still made from same steel etc. I quess that previous owners of your lex were bad host... I suggest you to replace it with another one which is well maintained.

    your fueling problem can be fixed if you clean up sifter inside the fuel hose..I just can´t imagine how to do it... maybe someone knows. good luck!

    What makes synthetic oil superior to conventional oil?

    Historically, conventional oils lack the performance of synthetic oils in the areas of low-temperature performance and high-temperature oxidation stability. Conventional motor oil is made up of an inconsistent mixture of long and short chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms. In the extreme heat of an engine, short-chain molecules can evaporate, and unstable molecules can oxidize and break down. Conventional oils also contain much greater amounts of impurities, such as sulfur, reactive and unstable hydrocarbons, and other undesirable contaminants that cannot be completely removed by conventional refining of crude oil.

    Mobil 1® with SuperSyn™ uses high-performance fluids, including polyalphaolefins (PAOs), along with a proprietary system of additives. Each Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ viscosity grade uses a unique combination of synthetic fluids and selected additives in order to tailor the viscosity grade to its specific application.

    Are there advantages to using synthetic oil in a motorcycle?

    ExxonMobil® offers three Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oils for motorcycles. Although Mobil 1 15W-50 has been used in 4-cycle motorcycle engines, ExxonMobil engineers recommend using Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oils, since they have been specifically optimized for motorcycle applications. Be sure to follow your owner's manual for recommended oil and filter change frequencies.

    How should I dispose of used synthetic motor oil?

    You should follow the same environmentally sound procedures that you do with conventional motor oil. Here are the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) guidelines for disposal:

    Do not dump used motor oil in the trash. Do not pour it on the ground or down the sewer or storm drain.

    Place the used oil in a closed container.Take it to a service station or a collection location that recycles used motor oil.

    Do not burn used motor oil in a space heater.To make it easier to recycle, do not mix motor oil with other substances such as gasoline or antifreeze.

    Most Exxon and Mobil service stations will take used motor oil from do-it-yourselfers and will follow EPA-approved recycling. Please note that it is acceptable to mix used Mobil 1 with used conventional motor oil. In short, Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ should be disposed of in the same manner as used conventional motor oil.

    Can different synthetic motor oils be mixed together?

    Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ is fully compatible with conventional motor oils, semi-synthetic motor oils and other synthetic motor oils, should it be necessary to mix them. But the superior performance of Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ will be reduced by diluting it.

    Can I go longer without changing my oil if I use a synthetic?
