  1. If you are not experienced with MVAC don't do it, the O-ring polymers used for R-12 are not compatibile with R-134a. THe mineral oil in R-12 system is also not compatible with the PAG oil used in R-12. It will just cause you problems down the road fast. Wait until your compressor ges out then do the swap. there are several replacement for R-12 that are compatible, try Freeze 12 (no license needed to buy).

  2. It could be a bad knock sensor, or bad gas, the Octane rating of gas is determined by the Research Octane number added to the Motor Octane number then divided by 2. If the research octane number is high (this is a theory test) then the Octane will rate high even though it is actually low. There is a 30 amp fuse under the hood, remove this fuse for 1 minute and then replace it and drive the car, stop and take off fast three times making it to high gear. This will reset the driving condition programmed into the car. This program determines the timing and injector sequences.

  3. The TRAC light will come on if the service engine light comes on for any reason, it will also come on if there is problems with the brakes since the brakes are it's main function, if the brake pressure on the TRAC Control module is low.

  4. Replace all the filters and change as many fluids as you can afford, remove the plugs and replace with Iridium plugs, they are the best and will last as long as the car does, take the plug wires and measure ohms from one end to the other, if you have more than 15 ohms on any wire replace them. I alos adjust my valves because they start pecking a little.

  5. This problem is caused by valve seals, when the car is sitting if oil doesn't drain before the valve seals cool down and contract, the it allow a minute amount of oil to enter the cylinder, when you start the car it combust the oil that entered the cylinder. This should be worse as the oil becomes dirty. If the car sit for a long period is it worse than only sitting over night?

  6. I just did lower control arms and all 4 struts on my 92 SC400. The lower control arm bolts were not hard to get the nuts off, use WD-40 or similar. The problem came in removing the bolt from the car, I had to use an air chisel with a punch insert. The bolts are actually CAM bolts that adjust the front end of the camber, they are very expensive to replace.

  7. It can be several things. It is tied into the engine performance and the braking system. Make sure the brakes have no problem since the service engine light is not coming on. Usually the service engine light comes on when this problem occurs...
