  1. SW03ES: Thanks for the clarification re how long the polymers and waxes last. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I am going to try both to see which one I like better. I'll post some pictures.
  2. SKperformance: It looks like water vapor to me... because it disappears after a few seconds. The next time I get into the car I'll pay closer attention. I just saw the same thing happen on an old Quest mini van.
  3. SW03ES: Thanks. I knew that was an easy question :-). I am looking into the Zaino products because I read that they last a lot longer than carnuaba wax (6 months vs about a week). I am trying to cut down on the amount of time I spend detailing my car. The wife already started to say that I am obsessed with the car... actually she said that I have become a slave to the car :chairshot: I will listen to your advice and top off the Z2 with P21S Carnuaba or Pinnacle Souveran. I have not had a chance to compare with a high quality carnuaba yet... I only did one detail since I got the car, using Meguiar's Carnuaba Wax (part 3 of 3 steps). I didn't have time to do step 1 and 2. I did do the claying. It looked good IMO but not as good as when I had my black ES300 done at the professional detail shop. The did something that gave it a really deep wet look that lasted for a few days. I want to replicate that. I hoping that the Z2/Z8 will do it. This time I will go through the whole process of paint cleaning, poslishing, Z2, then wax/Z8. I got myself a Porter Cable and really liked using it so far. Flashjet: I was going to do exactly that (Z8 on top of Z2)... been reading about the Zaino products on the Autopia.org forums. I am going to buy the products today.
  4. I tried to search the forums for this but could not find the answer. I have a 2002 LS430 in Midnight Pine Pearl (6S6)... that I am considering using Zaino Z2-PRO on. The Z2-Pro product description says that it's for clear coated finishes... anyone knows if my car has clear coated finish?
  5. gbhrps, Thanks. I hope it's nothing. It's seen it happening a few times for a long time now so I think it's ok. Next time I stop by Lexus I'll ask them about it.
  6. When the AC is running, sometimes I can see what looks like water vapor or smoke coming out of the front AC vents above the radio. Is this normal? I don't think it's smoke because it has no smell. The car is an 1997 ES300.
  7. Answering my own question, at this point I think the sub is blown. I called the dealer and was told that speakers are covered under CPO warranty so I am going to bring the car to the dealer to have them take a look. It's possible that that paper cone is blown or has a tear in it.
  8. Hello all, I have a 2002 LS430 with Mark Levinson. Problem is that my rear speaker/sub-woofer has a bad low-frequency rattle problem. The rattle does not go on all the time... just when there are strong low frequencies playing. I am hoping that this is caused by loose screws or seals. I am going to try to tighten the screws and check all the seals around the speaker. What's the best way to get to the rear speaker to tighten the screws and check seals? I think I can get to it from the trunk. Any info is appreciated.
