  1. I have a tool that can read twice as much information that tool is reading and as always launching a parts canon never ends well I would have diag the issue before the sensors were replaced honestly it will take a high end scan tool to correctly diag those sensors and the ecm that controls them and did you replace them with OEM the only ones I found that work correctly is Denso you can get those on Amazon for about 50 dollars for one

Thank you for the additional details for the bumper removal.  'Marker bulbs' are what - running lights?  Which halogens did you upgrade to?  Would you recommend it.  I assume you didn't go LED because you have the projector lense?

Yes the projectors I replaced with OEM bulbs and yes the running lights I used VLEDs I think they have a slight blue tint for the high beams I went with SYLVANIA 9005 SILVERSTAR ZXE GOLD HALOGEN HEADLIGHT BULB they have held up well I never needed to replace my headlight assembly I just removed them and sanded them and buffed them out and re did the clear coat on them

The "Car Care Nut" on youtube created a video about how consistently running your gas tanl low can cause premature fuel pump failure because there needs to be enough gas in the tank to keep the pump cool.

An added detriment is allowing the pump to pull in dirtier fuel from the bottom part of the gas tank.

I really like the car care nut very smart and yes dont run the fuel tank empty all the time and the filter is part of the pump assembly

    Hi Everyone,

Could someone please help me? I have replaced the 12V battery on my 2008 RX400H and now the dealer says I fried the HV control ECU. How would this happen? I have been a certified HD Mechanic for 28 years and have never seen this before. Now I am stumped. Can I replace the HV control ECU with a used one or does it have to be a virgin one from lexus?

Issues are the HV battery does not charge when the engine runs, many codes came up when I replaced the battery, I cleared the codes with Techstream and still does not work. The engine will start up but when I try to drive the check hybrid light comes on, the check vsc comes on. I cleared these and still will not drive and charge HV battery. I had a company send me an ecu that the programmed with the info from my original ecu but still not functioning properly.

What is the chance the hybrid driver clutch has failed inside the transmsission? How would I check it? I cannot find out much information from the dealer or online about this car.

All the dealer told me was they followed the troubleshooting tree and it says " replace HV control ECU".

Please help, My car has been down for 8 weeks now

That does not sound like an ECU problem that reminds of the battery relay switch and if i was going to guess at it i am going to say it is full or water and corroded they sell a brand new one for about 380 dollars but you need to fix the water issue first

  5. On the 90,000 miles service the majority of things include the timing belt and water pump and all the guides and tensioners idler pulleys fluid change which includes oil coolant breaks transmission rear diff on the timing belt and water pump please make sure they know what there doing the water pump surface must be 100% clean and NO sealant applied the timing must be correct as the engine is an interference engine which means you must get it right the first time there is no second chance

    That sounds very smart.

Is the fender liner the black pastic piece that goes along the bottom of the car?

I was thinking of making the drain hole bigger, if I take off that plastic can I easily access the grommet/drain where the hose ends?

Yes you will need to remove the inner fender liner now there will not be no big access point but you will be able to use a long screw driver to remove the rubber garment as far as making the drain hole bigger there is absolutely no reason for that when the weather warms up a bit here i will go back and take it apart and take pictures of the process so everyone can have a better understanding of the design
