  1. 2002 Lexus lx470 185,000 miles Well it finally happened I had been dealing with weird vibrations and soft knocking noises for a couple of months. (Got stuck in the snow pretty deep put the CDL on and 4Lo then tried to break her out with no luck then nosies started maybe 2 weeks after) No mechanic I took it to helped make a diagnosis said they couldn’t figure it out. This last weekend I had to get it towed from Wyoming back to Colorado as the noise got extremely loud and violent. Got pictures back from my mechanic friend and the diff is gone. So the question is what to do? He has sent me a new front differential and carrier assembly for $1800 it’s from Lexuspartsnow.com I’m not sure about their reputation and uneasy about sending them that amount of money does anyone have experience dealing with them? I also got a quote from his saying he has a friend who can rebuild it for $500 labor plus parts which was estimated to be $1800 so do I just buy the brand new one? Also with that being said do I just suck it up and put an ARB e-locker in the front diff and hopefully prevent this from happening again in the future? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/oem-lexus-differential.html?vin=&make=Lexus&model=LX470&year=2002&submodel=&extra1=&extra2=&filter=()
