I recently bought a used 2010 Lexus RH450h and am getting used to it. One thing that I'm interested in is if the navigation maps need to be updated. How do I tell what firmware is on the current navigation system? Can the 2010 be updated? I saw a couple articles online which seem to only start at 2013 or 2016.
Also, is there any way to add Apple Car Play to the vehicle? I was disappointed to find out that Lexus started supporting Car Play in 2012 with the navigation systems. But, even had I known that ahead of time it wouldn't have been a deal breaker on the car I bought (I did test drive a 2012 rX 350 too, which was nice).
If that navigation system can't be updated is it possible to replace the complete head unit to something newer which would support Apple Car Play?
As a side question, are the "Lexus Premium Audio" units made by Mark Levinson too; just not badged or officially certified? This one certainly sounds great, and I'd hope I could keep it if possible and just add a module for Apple Car Play.
