I'm not sure tbh. I didn't look that close. I did find where it plugged in, and the engine seems to be running fine. So I'm choosing to assume I guessed and got lucky.

I've been doing a starter rebuild on my 95 SC400, and just got the upper intake put back on. I noticed a small grey clip that doesn't seem to belong to anything up here, and I'm really worried that I'll have to take it all back off just because of the clip. Can anybody help identify this clip and where it goes??

Thank you for the information. No, actually, I don't have it sorted out. I will be sure to look into that. Also, when you say 'A used one can be had for $20 on eBay", are you referring to the key fob, or the ECU?

I just bought a used 1995 Lexus SC400 and have some questions about the keys. So the car came with 2 keys. One is the sub key, which as one might guess, has no buttons. The second is a smaller master key (yes, the master key is smaller than the sub-key) and also has no buttons. I did not receive any keyless remotes and I am wondering: did the car come with a remote from the factory? The car had 3 owners before me, so it’s very possible it was lost at some point in time.
