  1. Thank you vey much for your reply. Because I have no experience with auto mechanics, I can't say with confidence that CV boots last 80k miles beyond a google search but the original boots lasted 90K so my reference is how long the subsequent boots are lasting relative to the OEM installs from Toyota manufacturing when the car was built. Because this car is low mileage car for its age and extremely well cared for Lexus using only Lexus Dealership service, I can't imagine my driving or ignoring service is a factor. I really don't understand the mechanics of the boots or causes for wear and tear but hoping someone who has the experience can enlighten me on finer points on premature wear and tear so I can alleviate this trend. I've forwarded concern to Lexus Corporate who opened a case file and they seemed willing on the front end to investigate, thats all I can do. Dealership isn't investing any efforts to try to identify cause but this history of every other year replacements is concerning for what I should envision as the car ages. Again, thanks for your reply. Most helpful
  2. Can anyone help me understand why my 2006 GS is going through CV Boots so rapidly? Currently have 140K miles. First set (right and left) replacement at 90k miles. Now at 140k (Oct 2022) and on 3rd replacement. All service performed by Lexus dealership using their OEM parts. They state replacement parts are OEM from Toyota mnfr so shouldn't be 3rd party vendor parts. 2016: both left and right replacement (90K miles) 2019: left replacement (120K miles) 2022 (5/22022 - Right CV Boot replaced at 136k miles) / (10/22 - Left CV Boot replaced at 140K miles) From all I can find, CV boots should last on average ~ 80k miles pending no other mitigating circumstances. My first set from factory lasts 90K miles and now subsequent sets are only lasting. Curious is replacements are inferior to OEM
  3. one owner 2006 GS; 139k mikes. All service via Lexus Dealership. Excellently maintained. CV Boot replacements - 1set lasted 100k miles. Have replaced both at 100k. Since, now on 3rd set. Curious why needing frequent replacements. Curious if replacement CV Boots are non-Lexus brand or if something else I’m missing. Appreciate any insight
