  1. I have been trying for months to find out if anyone else has this problem.  Mine does the exact same thing - solar sensor is active (night mode) and the vehicle has to be moving - they don't flicker if you are sitting still.  I also have Nav - do you?

Yes. I have nav as well. I do not notice any other lights flickering.

  2. I had an RX330 for 5 months and traded it for a GX. The RX is based on a car chassis and is a completely different drive than my GX. I'm much happier with the GX overall. During the winter, I was pushing snow with my front bumper of the RX and came close to being stuck several times. Although I was able to get where I needed to go, the RX had a tough time in the snow ruts. I wanted a 4WD that would better handle deep snow and some light off roading, while being very civilized and comfortable on-road. So far, the GX is great. I actually prefer driving it over an LX.

If you are driving an LS or GS and hop into a GX, the GX is going to seem strange. If you look at it for what it is, a luxury SUV, it's a great vehicle.

  3. I just noticed on my 2005 GX that the green indicator lights for the ventilation controls, specifically the A/C, Auto and circulation (recirc-fresh air) lights, flicker randomly. I only notice it at night and there does not appear to be anything that triggers it, just a random event each time. Has anyone else experienced this? Everything is functioning properly and the vehicle has been great, other than this one item.

  4. I purchased the Husky cargo liner.. had so many problems .. the cargo  mat didnot fit .. I even worked with the engineer .. I measured the cargo area.. Still didn't fit right ..  Sent it back ... stll looking for a cargo liner ..I will probally visit Brookfield and order one from the Dealer ..

I have the Husky cargo liner on my 2005 GX. It fits great. I wonder if you received the wrong liner.

  5. After 22,000 miles, have decided that our '04 RX330 has to go.

Transmission is unaceptable. *See RX330 Forum.* Drive by wire and lack of torque cause confusing downshifts. Smells a hill and downshifts.

Daily driver for wife, who is also unhappy with performance and quirks. It's also used on "long trips."

GX470 seems to be a compromise.

1 - Anyone have a GX without fold up rear seats?

2 - How is it without rear A/C?

3 - How slow must you go to get 20 MPH?

4 - What kind of MPG at high speeds? - (75-90 "This is the West")

5 - Should $10,000 to $15,000 and RX pull off the deal?

    6 - Feedback welcomed!! - ............ - Jetstream - Eugene, Oregon

I just traded my 2005 RX for a GX. It has the third row seats, which I wanted. I'm averaging 16.5MPG in a city/highway mix right now at only 2,000 Miles. While I liked the adaptive HID headlights of the RX, the GX headlights work well, and the high-beams are fantastic. I also liked the little touches in the RX that are lacking in the GX, including the lighted Lexus logos on the door sills and the power rear door. However, I am much happier with my GX470 overall. The room behind the second row is much more usable and I've come to like the side opening rear door. Also, the lighted running boards make it easier for my children, 5 and 6, to get in and out. The ride is good and the new 270hp V-8 runs great. My only problem now is that my wife is starting to talk about the GX becoming her daily driver...

  6. I have looked at Weathertech, Husky, and a couple of others that are more"carpet" like rather than the rubber ones.  Just wondering people's experience and happiness with various mats?  Color matching? Thanks

I've purchased Huskyliners (front to back) for my last four vehicles. They are the best, in my opinion. Summit Racing has great pricing, http://www.summitracing.com. You can obtain part numbers and view information/specs for Lexus vehicles at http://www.huskyliners.com/lexusapps.html.

By the way, their floor mats are great at keeping water, mud, snow and everything else off your carpet. The second row mat is one continuous piece, which is the best design I've found, especially if you have kids.

The color match is reasonably close, depending on interior color, I have the dark grey interior in my GX and my Huskyliners are somewhat lighter in color, but they look fine. The tan is a very close match (that's what I had in my RX330).

  7. I have a 2005 GX470 with 2k miles. It drives well. The only thing I've noticed regarding a "thump" is that it seems to downshift after being stopped for a few seconds. It doesn't appear to be a problem, just a downshift. Is this what everyone is posting about?
