  1. wow, looks incredible. However black is my color. I was going to get a car from Bay Ridge Dealership but did not wanna get hassled because I dont know anyone there, did you get a good deal? what do your monthly payments look like? How much did you put down? I live in bensonhurst. So I was wondering if I could go there for a test drive and see if I can perhaps talk to someone that can give me a good deal. :)

  2. I saw it on the street it looks incredible, when I found out about the 272 hp and the 21/30 city highway fuel efficiency that got me really excited. Whoever owns it already, tell me more about it how is the ride in general? Reliable to own it? Luxurious to enjoy it every day and then some? Performance wise, is it what we have been waiting for? I see improvement from every aspect in this model. :blushing:

  3. Got a brochure today in the mail. New 460. I saw it last year and typical Toyota. Very conservative and follows the general styling theme for the whole sedan line. If I had my choice I wish they would pick up on the Italians like Maserati and make the 460 stand out from the rest of the line.

Toyota seems to like the Germans with rounded edges. I would think for this kind of money you should see one coming from a mile off.

Just in case you haven't seen the web site check out www.ls.lexus.com/newls

We keep think about getting one but the the gas thing gets to me. Premium gas is brutal. It has an 8 speed transmission which should help on the highway.

There is the social conscience thing working here also. Is it right to drive a huge, heavy car in todays world? It's possible big expensive cars will be a social pariah like the Hummer in a few years. Maybe I'll wait a while.

Everybody said the same thing about the new S550 comparing to the old body of S500. When I saw the new S550 on the street my jaw dropped. :)

  4. Hey guys, I currently own an LS 400 1992 unfortunately it is reaching its 200.000 mile point, where I have to sell it. It is at 198.000 miles, so I have to sell it fast before the car loses its value. I am eyeing the ES 300.

I tried checking the Lexus official site but its already updated with the newest 2007 ES, and does not give me any specs for the older models. Preferably I am looking to get 2003-2004 ES 300/250. However before going to the dealer I would appreciate if I have these basic questions answered from all the pros here.

    1. How long do these cars last, If I decide to finance one, in the 2002 range with about 40-50 thousand miles, can I expect this car to run up to 200.000 miles with proper maintenance.

    2. How much do these cars go far ( Year 2003-2004 | 40-50 thousand miles )

    3. With the gas prices today, especially for me I am a New Yorker, how does this car go city/highway. ( if possible include the hp and the engine size ) I am guessing it might be a bit better than my 18/23 V8 4.0

    4. What are some major cons and pros in this car.

Any answer would be helpful. :)

    Thanks,

    Nick.

  5. Thanks for the input, but I guess I forgot to add that I never had that service done yet, so I assumed it was expensive. Brooklyn dealer here in New York charges you 105 an hour for labor, so yeah that is way too much. Makes me wanna think twice about buying a used car next time. But then again leasing a brand new BMW which guarantees you a 4 year free maintenance never really has problems since its brand new ( except for the oil change and maybe new breaks depends on their life. I guess either way you can't win. But the only positive thing we can get out of this, these cars do last forever and I would pay that money because we care. :)

  6. High Output V8, World's First Eight-Speed Transmission

The LS will be powered by an all-new highly advanced 4.6-liter V8 engine that will produce approximately 380 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. Combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, a world-first, the LS 460 will travel from zero-to-sixty miles per hour in less than 5.5 seconds. With that level of performance, the new LS will achieve an estimated combined city/highway mileage in the mid-20s.

    Damn!

  7. You turn the key and it makes no noise or clicks or anything. What should I check for?

    Had the same problem.

Cause - Extremely cold weather/ leaving closed yet open door somewhere, or radio reception, remember if u dont shut off ur audio system that drains a lot of energy also.

It's a dead battery. My old buick made no sound no nothing, then my father told me not to kill the starter, let it sit there and charge, if the connectors not going through on top, try to charge the battery from the side.

    good luck
