  1. Hello, I am following up to see if anyone has had any type of success with fixing the brake click noise on a 2017 LS 460 AWD? In reference to my previous post, the Lexus dealership has replaced the actuator several times; replaced the accumulator once; multiple brake flushes. When they performed the brake flush, they did not use the BG (or similar) machine and did not do a power flush. Since I still have the brake click noise, I’m wondering if a power flush then refill with dot 3 (or whatever is recommended) will solve the issue? Just throwing a dart here, but maybe the issue is nitrogen getting in the accumulator? Thank you, Tom
  2. Thank you; I appreciate the information. I have an appointment for a test drive with the Lexus dealership/shop foreman next week. I assume that if he experiences the vibration in the seats then the dealership will be on board with looking further into my vehicle/situation. My vehicle is still covered under the certified pre-owned warranty. Do you have any information that is more specific or just present the aforementioned issues (you addressed in your last post) and see where they go with it?
  3. In the interim, I will be working with the dealership to address front seat vibrations at various speeds; i.e.: 35-40mph and around 60-65mph. New tires and road force balance performed, so I am thinking it could be the driveline and/or some other issue. Maybe there’s an issue with the rear axle? No vibration with the steering wheel and drives straight as an arrow… If anyone has anything to share, I will bring it with me to the Lexus dealership next week. Thank you, Tom
  4. Good evening, Thank you… it’s unfortunate b/c the vehicle is fantastic and I don’t understand how the issue was not fixed years ago as 2017 was the last model year for that LS 460 generation. They have provided a loaner when it was in, but I highly doubt a loaner until a fix is designed b/c of the uncertainty of the fix and timeframe…
  5. Hello, I have a 2017 LS 460 AWD with a brake actuator problem. My local Lexus dealership has been great working with me on this issue; within the last six months, they replaced the brake actuator twice and bled the brakes multiple times, per the guidance of Lexus (Corporate) Engineers and the TSB that applies to this situation. To my knowledge, there is no recall or actual fix yet for the brake actuator problem (thud noise when applying the brakes at lower speeds). If anyone has any recommendations and/or fixes, I will provide to my Lexus dealership for possible remedy of this ongoing issue. Standing by if additional info is needed from my end to help with a remedy. Thank you, Tom
  6. Hello, I have a 2017 LS 460 with HID low/high beams and LED fog lights. I’m sure the Lexus Engineers had a great reason to pair LED fog lights with HID low beams, but the color difference/kelvin between the HIDs and LEDs drives me crazy. I have a D4S Philips Extreme Vision Gen 2 bulb, which is rated at 4800 kelvin. I did not want to go too high in kelvin b/c I feel as though the higher the kelvin, the less light output on the road. I assume that the LED fog lights are approx 6000-6500 kelvin, so there is a color difference when both the low beams and fog lights are on. Not sure if this bothers anyone else? I prefer an amber color for the fog lights… cuts through rain, etc much better than the blueish LED color, in my opinion. Also, it would be great if the DRLs could be on with the fog lights only, but that is not an option from the factory set-up. The low beam needs to be on to activate the fog lights. Lastly, my vehicle has two projector lenses for each light assembly. The inner lens is not functional; my research indicates that the inner lens is only there for filling in what would have been empty space. The outer lens functions as the low and high beam. Interesting that Lexus chose to do this for such a flagship vehicle. Thank you, T
  7. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I get details from the dealership; to date, they are telling me that a slight vibration in the front seats and steering column is a normal thing for this year/model due to something related to the center damper opening, etc. I’ll need to get more details b/c this doesn’t make sense to me…
  8. Good morning Dave, Thank you for your reply. I will revisit that with the dealership. I originally brought that up to them... mentioned the wheel weights and possibly out of balance wheel(s), and they totally discounted that. I'll request they recheck those areas. Thank you again and I'll reply as soon as I figure out the root cause.
  9. Hello there from Pennsylvania. In July 2021, I purchased a certified pre-owned 2017 LS 460 AWD/non-F Sport model. It's a great vehicle and has approx. 36k miles on it. I know these vehicles are well known for their superior build quality, craftmanship, and reliability. There's an issue though... there is a slight vibration coming through the steering column when driving at speeds around 20-40mph. This can also be felt by the passenger. The dealership is aware of my issue, test drove it with me (as to duplicate the issue), and said that they do not think it's the control arms, in need of alignment, balance, wheel weights, etc. To date, this issue is still unresolved with my local Lexus dealership as the Tech needs to further research to see what the root cause is and wants to drive another LS 460 to see if the same issue occurs in that vehicle. I'm hoping the Lexus dealership doesn't get back with me and say that this is normal - I can't see how this would be normal for an LS. I'm not mechanically savvy, rely on the Lexus Tech's experience, and also hoping that someone on this Forum can provide helpful suggestions... If anyone has experienced a similar issue, has information to share, needs more info from my end, etc., please advise. Thank you for your time! T from PA
