  1. No, it is 1 exhaust pipe into a 2 exhaust pipe setup. Not a true dual exhaust system coming from both exhaust manifolds and going all the way back. Lexus never offered dual exhaust for the RX330's and the cost to do that for me, was cost prohibitive. It would require multiple catalytic converters and mufflers among other things. This system ties into the cars exhaust system after the Catalytic Converters. Since the RX330's never came with dual exhaust, the setup had to be fabricated at a Speciality Muffler shop, using stock Lexus parts and aftermarket parts. It's more for the look of Dual exhausts than HP & Performance gains, although there are minimal gains with the setup.
  2. Just had 2 into 1 Dual Exhaust done to my '05 RX330
  3. RX400h, You make a valid point, but there are certain Used parts that shouldn't be used, like High Wear items such as internal engine parts, bearings, brake pads and rotors, clutch parts, water pumps, hoses other high wear items with a predictable lifespan. High dollar used items like engines, transmissions and rear ends and other used parts will always have a market because of the cost of the New Part. Many Used parts sold and installed, last quite a long time, saving their owners $$$ and keeping vehicles out of salvage yards. In my case, I don't believe the Liftgate motor is a "High Wear" item, and for me it was worth taking the risk on a used part. I'm mechanically handy, I could change the part myself if bad and not have to pay somebody else to do it. PS, a Spotweld broke on the original Actuator Assy, and I didn't see it until after I installed the used one. The headliner has to be pulled down to replace, so I wanted to have a replacement ready to put back in and put the headliner back. As Always- Buyer Beware
  4. The used liftgate actuator motor was $125 USD and a New motor from Lexus/Toyota was close to $400!!. This Actuator Motor fits numerous vehicles made throughout the world, not just Lexus/Toyota. Using the original part number and a Part # Cross Reference Interchange List, you have the ability to see what other part numbers interchange with the Lexus/Toyota part number. All Salvage yards use this method to source out used parts. For most people that are not in the Auto repair sector, this method of finding parts for their car is not a readily available option. Being Retired and having more time than $$$, this method works well for me!! Good Luck
  5. Hello, I had the exact same problem with my '05 RX330. It turned out to be the lift motor for the liftgate. It was strong enough to bring it down, but not strong enough to lift it up. I bought a used one off Ebay from a seller overseas, and it worked Great. It's not hard to replace for an experienced Tech. The cost for the used unit was $125, and I still have the old one for parts if ever needed.
  6. Yes, I have tried working it many times, and the AutoElectric place near me, doesn't want to fool with it!! The passenger side mirror will not go "UP OR DOWN". The next thing I have to do, is to remove the door panel and check for power to the mirror, when the "Up/Down" switch is used. Lexus has so many Mirror options, Heated,Memory and Auto Dim, that it makes it difficult to find a used one. Plus there is a Mirror Computer in the door as well. So...lots of possibilities! But Thank You.
  7. Being a longtime Toyota/Lexus owner, and a Retired Toyota Tech, I learned a long time ago that the early Lexus/Toyota models that were equipped with Ceramic brake pads, had rotor warping issues. I switched to Semi-Metallic or Organic Compound brake pads, and never had a rotor warp again. There is a little more dust and noise with these types pads, but they don't get as hot and generate the heat the Ceramic pads do, which causes the early rotors to warp. Eventually the automaker made a rotor to handle the high heat Ceramic pads make, and the rotor warping became less of a problem in the later years. Also it is very important on every brake job that the rotors, new or old, are checked for being "out of round" (Yes, new rotors) and the technician lubricates the caliper slides, makes sure the caliper piston is not frozen and that the pads fit freely in the calipers, and the lug nuts are hand tightened. Try not to turn a warped rotor, too much rotor material has to be removed, making them more prone to warping again. This is something every tech should do, but Rarely DOES. If these procedures are followed everytime, brake problems are Very Rare!!! PS, Brembo makes Good Pads and Rotors.
  8. Hello, the Passenger side mirror quit going up/down,even in Reverse, it still works L/R. It has AutoDim, Heat and Memory. I've been told the problem could be a poor connection, bad mirror motor or the mirror computer. The Lexus dealer tells me that with my Vin#, the only option is a New Mirror, that they don't sell a mirror motor or actuator for that Vin!! Anybody else have this problem?
