  1. Yes, I read the consumer report. They focused on mechanical issues and overall car quality. I am not worried about those parts of my Lexus. I would not have continued to purchase Lexus if I did not believe in the quality of the vehicle. My concern was, and still is, the increased computer and electronic components. I have had numerous computers and when one of them went bad, I had to replace it at a greater investment that the original. That, and the recent shut downs of computers (airports, businesses, banks, etc.) has me looking for backup in case.
  2. There are those who will scoff at my decision, but consider this. A computer glitch halted all air traffice gobally today. I currently own a 2019 Lexus RX 450h that is at end of factory warranty. This is my 3rd Lexus since 2001. I am confident in the mechanical parts of my vehicle and have had trouble free service from all three vehicles. However, my RX450h contains 18 on board computers. I plan to keep this vehicle for at least another 5 years (I keep cars on average for 10 years). It may be a foolish waste of money , but even well made computers and programs can fail (We saw that today). I welcome you thoughts and comments. The cost of vehicle repair is going to go up, so it seems a reasonable gamble.
  3. I'm on my 3rd Lexus, 2nd hybrid. I live 6 months in Florida and six months in Tennessee. I have learned a few things about Lexus over the 20 years. First, the mileage figures for Lexus always are overrated. I drive a 2019 450h and love it. I just turned over 50,000 miles. Two previous SUVs put 300,000 and 200,000 miles on. Two things I learned. When possible, drive in the eco mode. Second, if you can find it, use ethanol free gas. I regularly find it at Waawaa, Buckies, and some other chains. It is even at Shell now. It is more expensive, but I average 27 mpg, sometimes 28. I am a defensive driver, but cruise along the interstate at 77 mph.
  4. I have a 2019 RX450h with 15,000 on it. Had a year. Twice system has died-just as described above. When I get to dealer (message says visit the dealer) and turn engine off, it resets. Dealer says nothing wrong with car (don't you just love it!) Had a 2015 RX450h that I swapped in--big mistake! Had 120,000 with no issues. Help. What do I do??
