I need to replace a non-nakamichi tweeter in a 1996 LS 400, but have been told that a dealrer will charge around $400 - about ten times the cost of an excellent tweeter. Can't find any for sale anywhere else. Anyone know the specifications for the factory tweeter? e.g., ohm rating, power handling. May be impossible to find, but worth trying.
IMHO, the stock stereo sounds better than any of the many after-market stereos I have had in cars, some of which were very powerful and expensive. It seems to make all the difference that it was voiced for this particular car.
