  1. well i have decided that i am gonna sell the 98 gs400. its cinnabar pearl/black full load with nak...62000 miles, 2 sets of rims/tires (summer and winter).

    questions im considering....

    1. the summer 17s are pretty much bald...would you replace the rubber before selling it? or do you think it would be a cost i would not be able to recover when selling the car?

    2. the brake pads/rotors need to be done in front and rear. should i get 4 all new rotors, or should i get the rotors machined? i will be replacing pads nonetheless

any other ideas you have that would be a good idea to help me be firm on sale price please let me know. loooking for around 21-23k

    thanks

  2. i agree that sometimes it's nice to feel the exhiliration of a perfect drift on a somewhat wet road or whatever you like but serious haha come on....

if you really want to drift buy a s13 silvia for 1500 bucks....slap a muffler on and go drifting. when you finally hit that gaurd rail...or wear your suspension out to the point that the chasis is barely hanging on youll be much happier that you did it on a $1500 car...as opposed to a 30,40,50......$__K car

thats what i did and i went through 2 sets of crappy tires...and just tore the 240sx apart ahha

  3. bought my 98 gs400....have put 10,000 miles on the car since i bought it. so far all i have had to do was change hid bulbs which was a bit pricey, and replace the yaw sensor...which was covered by the stealer.

as for snow...i have brand new snow tires on my car and it drives exceptional in the snow mode....and actually not too bad in the normal setting. i only had it for the last few weeks of snow driving last winter...but if you dont mash the throttle everytime on the snow....with decent winter tires (4 of them of course) its pretty good. probly because of size of the car.

Im not over the moon about the mpg with my car lately....but i think i know the culprit to poorer fuel economy recently, and for a V8 its not too bad...not as bad as my dads 740iL.

all in all my favorite car owned/driven/etc

  4. ok quick question, as i searched for "tein edfc" and couldnt find my exact response

so with the tein cs coilovers, i know you can get the edfc for 300$ more. and i know that it adjusts your settings from inside the car, so you dont have to bust out the wrench everytime you want to adjust your ride.

my question is what exactly does it adjust? is it dampening/height? just dampening? just height?

anyone with this installed on your car or know of it installed if you could help me out i would really appreciate it.

also, feedback on how you like this combo on your gs. i will be probly getting 20 x 8.5 in the spring and am gonna need to make sure this will work first off

    THANKSSSSSSSSSSSS

  5. i hit a full grown male moose in my bmw when i was 18. i had the car lowered and every mechanic i talked to said that if the car hadnt been lowered and that if there wasnt 4 people in the car to weigh it down a little more, i would have been toast. it was almost like we took his legs out and he kinda flew over us. when we stopped we were teetering on the edge of a wet slope that went down about 50 feet, then was a cliff dropping off into the middle of nowhere in the rocky mountains. it was by far the scariest thing that had ever happened to me.

ahah anyways i remember peolpe used to ask how the moose was...who cares...hahha its his fault for jumping out.

  6. I love the rims but it is because the style of car and design style of the rims are VIP and clean.

It is definatly not everyones style ,Givoanna makes good rims but the shipping is going to kill you especially if it is sent UPS.

The colour  of your car is what will determine how good or bad it looks.

Also don't think you can use 10 inch wide out back without mods

the car is cinnabar pearl.....(the wine red color).

and i think i would order them in 20x8.5 all around

  7. quick question

my sidemarkers on my 98 gs4 dont light up when i signal to change lanes. they also do not light up when i hit the lock function or when i have hazards on.

are they there purely for asthetics? are they simply reflectors? or could i possibly have a burnt out fuse??

i have had this problem since i bought the car so i guess i always assumed they were just reflectors.

  8. Can the Blizzak's be worn all year-around or is it strickly for winter use?

The blizzaks are strictly for winter driving. You should have a set of summer tires.

depending on summer time heat you would burn through a set of winter tires in a summer season. the composition of the winter tires is different im pretty sure and i know its not good to be driving on them alot much above 15degrees celcius.....or i guess in american ~ 60f??

it is kinda fun tho when theres no snow and the roads are dry...cruising around on the winters cus theyre really grippy

  9. Haha i have been on a journey trying to find rims for the past 6 months that i have owned the Gs4.

i have kinda gone from mesh style, to 5 spoke. staggered to unstaggered....i just cant decide. i just dont want to buy the wrong rims and spend tons of dough to not be happy.

anyways i have a new idea here and i was just wondering for opinions on the style of the rims. feedback has been good before so lets keep it going.

i really like this rim, i think it has a certain VIP style to it. let me know what you guys think

  10. living in canada i see my fair share of snow. when i was cruisin a bmw i bought the blizzak ws-50 i think it was. its probly the best studdless tire you can get for snow traction, and ice traction. its a little expensive but think of the consequences of getting tires with poor snow/ice traction. youll be hitting curbs or worse and your baby will be messed up.

i also noticed that the ws-50 didnt even look like they wore at all after 2 years.... amazing

  11. Anyone noticed a difference when playing with the button shifting as to fuel economy? i mean i guess if you hold each shift until 4500-5500 rpm your gonna lose alot of gas mileage. but i have never driven a tank of gas from full to empty using the manual shift mode.

im asking cus im doing a long road trip to the lake....385-400 miles and im looking at making that tank of gas last as long as possible.

also...i know that with older cars, using the A/C used to absolutely kill gas mileage, but is that still the case any more?

i know these all sound like juvenile questions, but i have never really payed attention to my fuel economy before. i know roughly how long a tank should last based on my driving habits.

    any input would be appreciated

    thanks
