  1. Just thought I would mention that I just replaced my factory 8" (Pioneer) with a 15" Tempest.

As far as changing the look of the factory deck, I like what I did. All the work was done by me and my Wife.

How do I attach a Pic?

  2. No spacers, but the studs do not go all the way through the lug nut. I sorta thought this was wrong, but that is how I got it. My wife and I saw a set of chrome factory rims on a '98 GS (I think) that I wouldn't mind putting on, if I found a set. Maybe my rims are too thick, and I need longer studs. Any Idea where I could get them? I just keep buying stock Lexus studs.

    Thanks,

    Bill

  3. I have broken a total of 8 wheel studs, all on the passenger side. Both front and back. The wheels were torqued properly. I am at a loss here, and frankly, I am worried about my Wife an Son driving around in this thing (LS400) if the wheels are gonna fall off.

    Thanks,

    Bill

  4. I bought a used fuse pannel from a yard, and after replacing individual items one by one, it turned out to be the Relay control center located directly behind the fuses. It is light blue in colour, and after replacing it, ALL of my elec. problems were solved.

    Thanks,

    Bill :magic:

  5. I was driving down the highway and my sterio quit. I checked the wiring and I have constant power, but no switched power. I started checking other things, and noticed that my climate control has no power, (however, the clock still works) and the power mirrors don't work.

I checked the fuses, and everything seems good, except, there is no power going to either side of the mirror/heater fuse.

Is there a relay or something that could have screwed up? Is there something else I can check? Does anyone have the factory wiring diagram for this car?

    Thanks for any help!

    Bill

  6. Ok, I knew our '92 had a factory security system, but never knew how to activate it. My wife thought that the light on the dash was just a theft deterant! anyway, she managed to set it off somehow the other day and freaked out because she thought the car was going to self destruct. ;)

If there is no shock sensors, what makes it go off? She says that she closed the trunk and it went off, but try as we might, we can't get it to repeat.

    Thanks for any help,

    Bill

  7. My display is the same. As far as removing the display, it is easier than falling off a truck! I can have my sterio and heater control out in 5 min.

First grasp the wood trim ring that is around the shifter. Hold it at the end closest to the front seats and pull up and toward you. It has 2 legs on the front, so try not to lift too high as you remove it.

Next, grasp the ashtray from below it. Hold firmly and pull. It is tight, so don't be scaired to use some strength. Disconnect the wires from the back.

Now, point the vents that are above the heater control towards the floor. Grasp the bottom of the duct and pull firmly. Disconnect the wires from the back.

Now you should be able to see 2 Phillips screws on the top of the climate control, and 2 on the bottom of the deck. They are a little hard to see 'cause they are a little ways under the deck.

Be careful not to drop the screws!

    Hope that helps,

    Bill
