Power door lock won't open completely to unlock door

Nope - There are only two cables connecting to the door handle (one for the door and one for the lock and they are impossible to reverse because of the end connectors) and no other parts to the linkage. -
I recently had to replace the inside driver's door handle on my 1992 SC 400. OEM part and now the power door lock won't open completely to make the door open from both the inside and outside. If you push the lock to the unlock position with your finger the door will open. The lock moves when using the remote but just not far enough to unlock. The lock part works fine. Can anyone tell me what could possibly be wrong?
