  1. You need to change the filter that cleans the incoming air. Open the glove compartment and it's actually behind the glove box behind a removable plastic panel. It simply slides out. Something about these filters makes a very sweet, sickening smell when they need to be changed. On mine, I took the filter out and drove the car until I could get by the Lexus dealer and get a new filter. I think the filter was about $55 to $60. I hope this helps.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I'll try to torque the lug nuts and see if that makes a difference. I'll check out the web sites as well.
  3. I have a 02' GS430. It's equiped with the optional 17" wheels. The original tires had a loud roar and after they were worn out, I replaced them with a set of Bridgestone Protenza tires. They were initially better, however, as the tire have worn (5000 miles) they have developed the same roar. I'm wondering if anyone has experience using different tires such as tires with a taller side wall (250/255) or something that's not Z rated. I love the car, but I'm tired of mu Lexus sounding like a 4X4.
