  1. Hey Motocopter.... I went to test drive the new 06' GS 300 the other day. Can you tell me if you have this problem with yours.......I attempted an emergency brake from approximately 35 MPH down to about 5 MPH. I then quickly got back on the gas. When I did this, the engine spooled up, and then about 1/2 to 1 second later, the transmission caught, causing the tires to spin. Would you mind trying this on yours, to see if it does the same. I asked the dealer, who, of course, said it was the first time he had experienced this. He asked a mechanic, who said that this occurred in a different vehicle (same model) as well. I appreciate your efforts. Thanks.
  2. In reading some posts here, I have noticed in previous models (mainly ES (mid to late 90's)) that the transmission would fail to immediately engage when accelerating from 40 MPH on up. I recently test drove the new 2006 GS300. When I stomped on the brakes, and then immediately tried to accelerate (rapidly) the transmission failed to engage. Approximately 1/2 to 1 second later, the transmission slammed violently into gear, causing the back tires to spin. I have searched this site, but cannot find an explanation for this. Anyone with feedback? Thanks.
  3. I took the 06' GS 300 out for a test drive last week. Other than the interior being a little too cramped for me (something I think I will be able to live with), I found one potential "deal breaker" problem with the car. I braked extremely hard, and then immediately got back onto the throttle (simulating an emergency situation). As I got back onto the throttle, the engine reved and then approximately 1/2 to one second later, the transmission caught. This caused the back tires to chirp (they would have continued to peel out if I did not let off of the throttle). Of course the salesman said this has never happened, and that he would ask the mechanic. The mechanic said that this also happened in another vehicle he test drove, and had no explanation. Does anyone have any feedback on this? If not, when you go to test drive the car (or if your willing, your own vehicle), could you attempt this, and leave your feedback on the forum. Thanks for your help.
