Was it the dome fixture i need help my rx300 1999 is doing the exact same thing

I just purchased a 1999 rx300 upon buying it the battery dies so i thought so i buy battery then the same problem accured the same day so i thought it was alternator had alternator replaced problem persisted it seems as if the alternar isnt powering battery but when i take battery cable off car still runs anybody has any ideas on whats going on could use so sound advice
