  1. Well all my weird issues have been resolved. As a last ditch effort decided to take out the efi and disconnect the battery. Allowed the car to sit like that for two days. Plugged the efi in and reconnected the battery this morning and when I put the key in she fired right up and ran like a dream. Hopefully others looking for advice on this similar issue take heed and start where I ended.
  2. Ok so here goes my story, I go out to my car push the button on the key to unlock the doors. They unlock I get into the driver seat and get comfy. I go to stick the key in the ignition to fire her up turn the key and nothing. No engine trying to turn over no stereo nothing but a click from the starter relay. So far I have replaced the relay as initially the one in there wasnt even clicking. After replacing it I attempt to start it again. Still nothing except the new relay was clicking. Thinking it might be the ignition switch I replaced that as well. I attempt again to start it. Still just clicks from the relay. Took the starter to advance auto to be tested, its fine. Tested the battery and the alternator they are fine as well. Ive also tested the park/neutral safety switch. Ive found a million and one ways to supposedly reset the factory alarm to no avail. Theres power coming to the switch but not to anything else. Tested new ignition switch and it is working as it should. When I attempt to put the key in with driver door open the door chime works and the open door light comes on. When I turn the key only the air bag light comes on on the dash. Headlights, running lights and brake lights work. However the headlights have to be manually turned off as opening the driver door does not turn them off anymore. Turn signals and reverse lights do not work either.

  4. Just so you know my father is an awesome mechanic. He tested the wire part of the ignition and said its not getting power which means its not working. Replacing the wires is far cheaper than replacing the ignition control module. Which I so hope its not the ignition control module as thats a $400 part
  5. Just an addition due to the previous issue of tail lights not working we chased out all the wires and looked at them. All we could see look just fine no signs of cracking or wear
  6. My father tested the battery and alternator with his meter. I took the starter in to advance auto parts and had them test it. It tested perfect. While there I purchased a new starter relay. Still not turning over or cranking. Ive ordered a ignition switch (the wires) which wont be here til tomorrow. No mice have made a home in any of my fuse boxes. Ive checked for evidence of that. Plus our outdoor cat hangs around my car quite frequently so he would catch them first. If the security system has shut down the system how would I correct that? Ive tried the silly reset notion of being in the car and locking and unlocking the doors with the key button. Ive also turned the security system off to see if that helped and nothing
  7. I have a 92 Lexus es300, went out to start it today and nothing. Wont even crank. Tested the battery, alternator, and starter. They all tested fine. I have no clue as to what else could be the cause. Please help, all suggestions are helpful
  8. Thanks for your helpful reply. Thankfully the issue was fairly simple. I had an aftermarket stereo put in a few months ago. My Dad accidentally wired a couple wires wrong. So we rewired the stereo and undid the wires that were done wrong. Now my stereo doesnt have a buzzing sound when its off and my lights work again.
  9. I have a 92 lexus es300. Recently my tail lights have begun blowing the fuse and not working. Things Ive done so far is check the wires (they look good), checked the fail light indicator (it looks good), checked the relays where the wires from the trunk plug into the tail light (they look good), changed the bulbs and still nothing except it keeps blowing the fuse. Upon changing bulb I did notice that I had two sockets that were corroded so bad the bulbs wouldnt come out. So I cut them out and wired in some sockets that I had from another lexus. Please offer any suggestions to a possible solution. Thanks
