1999 LX470- The height Control on the dash that displays height level has "OFF" flashing below the display. Any ideas on what the issue may be? The height control system doesn't seem to lift or lower the vehicle.

I just joined the club today. My 99 LX470 has 140k miles and is starting to have some small problems. First one I need to solve is the climate control buttons issue. I have to press them extremely hard to change the current mode of operation. It's really bad in cold weather. I feel the like the panel is going to bust because I have to press so hard. I was going to take the panel apart and see if there was a way to clean the contacts, but thought I ask for help here first. Thanks!
