We gave our 2000 RX300 to our daughter and her husband 2 years ago. They have probably been somewhat less than diligent in caring for it. We are now going to get the car back, and wonder how we should be going about being certain that it is up to the 800 mile round trips we take every 2 months to visit. It has about 80,000 miles on it and up until 2 years ago received diligent care. Should we entrust it once again to our local mechanic, or have it evaluated by a Toyota/Lexus dealership?
