I have a 2008 with a check engine VSC light on. The dealer said it's a bad transmission. Doesn't VSC stand for Vehicle Stability Control? What does THAT have to do with transmission!? Has anyone faced this issue before?

I have the same issue with my 2008 LS460. The check engine light and VSC is on. I took it to a dealer, and I was quoted $11,000 to replace the transmission! I would love to hear from our fellow Lexus owners for a possible alternative to paying the dealer that kind of money! I bought this car for $70K brand new and it only has 108K miles....are you kidding me, Lexus!!!!?????? I thought this car was rated the most reliable in the luxury sedan market! What a disappointment!
