I had it scanned finally, 3 errors all related to the EVAP system, P0441- Emission control system purge flow fault, P0446-vent circuit malfunction, and P0455- system leak (large). I didn't screw the gas cap back on quite tightly the last time, could it related to that or do these sound worse?

is your problem resolved? I just had this exact situation happen to me, would like to hear how you fixed it - I've got a 8 month pregnant wife I don't want to take chances. thanks.

Instead of getting the oil changed in my ES330 at the lexus dealership, I took it to another store. Besides taking the car to the dealership, how can I reset the "Maintenance Needed" switch? Is this something Autozone can do with the handheld device?

Code P1780 on an 1997 LS 400 supposedly has to do with the Park/Neutral Position switch malfunction. Anyone have any details on how much this switch might cost or this problem cost to repair? Thank you very much.

Although my 97 LS 400 (185K miles) seems to ride fine, when I try to put the car into Park, the gear locks out in Neutral. I have to turn the engine off to put it in Park. The dealership said the Neutral Lock switch was bad and would charge $700 to replace. They also told me to push the bypass switch in the gear panel until I can get the switch replaced. Also, my check engine light has been coming intermittently for a couple of weeks, so I took the car to another local mechanic. He told me that the engine was 'unstable', and refused to work on it. He said it could be the linkages, or the motor, or a few other jargon things I didn't follow... Any suggestions? thanks,
