Second Row Seat Driver Side Not Folding Up

I just had this happen on my 03. I heard something break as I tried to bring the seat up against the drivers seat. It sounded like something plastic broke and flew somewhere (which I can't locate). Would love it if someone that has had this happen would respond. Lastly I checked the 4Runner website and they seem to have a different design for releasing the seat.
