  1. So I'm trying to hard wire my MP3 player through the interface betweent he CD changer and the head unit (2000 GS400 W/Nav).... There are 8 or so individual wires coming out of the CD changer....anyone know which is which..power, single etc? Thanks!
  2. I had the same exact problem...thought it was the sunroof...but it wasn't..about a year prior i had my windshield replaced...but they did a poor job, and the upper seal at the top of the windshield was not attached right, and they did a poor epoxy job....I brought it to a reputible shop, who took out the windshield, cleaned off the frame, and sealed it in right....it hasn't leaked since....
  3. Hi, A friend of mine with a Mazda 3 found instructions in a Mazda forum of how to hard wire an mp3 player (or basically anything that can plug into a headphone jack) to your car.... Basically it told him to cut the headphones of the end of a wire, and solder that to the connection between the CD changer, and the head unit. Once that is done, all you have to do is play a CD of blank noise, and then when you plug in the mp3 player, and play the blank CD, it overlaps the music from the mp3 over the blank signal from the CD changer. Anyone ever do this with a GS? or have any other suggestions of how to hard wire an mp3 player? I have a 2000 GS400 w/GPS Thanks.

  7. lexus has a TSB out about leaking sun roofs. There is a repair kit installed by th dealer. ← i live in MA, and i wonder if its related to the snow we just had...caus eit snowed, rained, then snowed in a 5 hour period, so maybe some water got inbetween the seal then froze. do you have a link to this TSB? is it a free repair by the dealer? Thanx! ← The TSB is avail at techinfo.toyota This is a pay site 10.00 for 24hour access. It has a wealth of info. Well worth 10 bucks. You can print or send to your files.Don't know if this repair is a free fix. It did say to look at the slide rales if there is pooled water on the top. From being bent in slightly. There is also a TSB on a wind noise reduction foam kit install My roof is quite noisey. Will call Lexus. ← do you have the TSB# for the sunroof? Lexus said they cehcekd the computer, and found no such TSB Thanx

  9. so i just got a car wash, and as i'm sitting in the car getting it washed, water started heavily dripping from where the garage door opner buttons are....enough to fill a small glass....I had previouysly checked befroe entering the wash that the sun roof was closed....the last wash i got was a couple months ago, and there wasn't any dripping....I had the winshield replaced once, but that was over a year ago, and i had the car washed since, without problem..... anyone ever seen this before? Thanx
  10. So i beleive its fuse #33 that turns off the beeping without turnin goff the radio...but i'd still like to know if theres a better way
  11. Ok...so I want to clean the inside of my car, with the key in the ignition, it set to ACCessories (so i can have to stereo on), but also be able to keep the door open, and not have the car go BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP...... My last car was a volvo, and when the door closed, it actually pushed in a little button in the door frame(to turn of the dome lights, and stop the beeping). I was able to push in this button, give it a 1/4 turn while pushed in, it would stay pushed in and it would make the beeping stop while the door was open, and the key was in... is this possible with a 2000 GS400? I just realized i could probably pull the fuse, but does anyone have a better idea? (aside from using a portable stereo and not turning on the car?) Thanx

  13. your 2 cents was not necessary.....not to mention, I found only 1 other thread, and the guy never reported back with what the problem was...so thought I’d repost...and look, and got a response from someone else, that wasn't posted to the other thread......you don't have to be so bitter, pessimist don't think just becasue your an advanced user, it makes it alright to be a prick ← Your oulook on life and attitude determines how you interpret things, so you assume I'm being a prick and a pessimist. Says alot about your outlook on life and attitude! Good luck with that, I see it's working well for you <_< ← lol....you're the one making assumptions...you assumed i didn't search, but i did.....you think you're so much smarter then everyone else..i can tell your type....now you're trying to weasil out of your comment by saying i'm making assumptions of you, when i'm just commenting on your comment.....

  15. I live in new england..i have a 2000 GS400....70k miles....platinum....w/nav system.....So the climate systeml is controled from the touch screen, and there are some buttone around the screen......during the winter, when its epsecially cold, I'll start the car, but none of the light on the climate buttons around the screen light up, and if i switch the screen to cliamte control view, all of the buttons are greyed out...sometimes if i turn off the car, and restart it, the lights will iluminate, but only after pushing the auto button, and off button back and fourth...but this technique does not always work.....somethines the buttons i push, even though the lights don't come on, will actually control the climate system, but not always..... anyone else have this problem/? is there even antything i can do? other then when its very cold, this doesn't happen.... Also, even after driving all the way to work , fter the car has warmed up, the light and buttons on the screen don't become active, until i restart the car Thanx
