  1. I am not looking for a special brand because I was hoping to get a good tip here ;) Besides that, I dont have the specs for an other woofer, I mean how big it should be to fit et cetera... I am not a technical miracle so I would need to know what to buy and than I should be able to fit it in.... I guess... I hope
  2. It is the Nakamichi one. I already found the tutorial, thanks for the tip, but I was wondering if anyone here would recommend me a certain replace-sub. So hopefully......
  3. Dear fellow Lexusdrivers, I have been looking around for a subwoofer to replace mij present subwoofer, but I cannot find a fitting one. I am driving a '95 LS400 and I think a new subwoofer would improve my bass enough, without having to install a receiver too (coz I am not very handy...) Does anybody have a tip for me, which one to buy? Thanks in advance, greetings Speedy J (Holland)
  4. Hi guys, Having read this topic and having mentioned earlier that I had the same problem of the dying engine, I sent my car to the Lexus dealer, with a reference to this topic. It seemed I already have the updated computer (ECU) in my '95 LS. So that couldnt be the problem. The dealer had an other possibility and that was to check the fuel related items in the car. Excuse me for my bad english (dont know the terms/right words) but I will try to make this clear They found out that the fuelpump, some related sensors, the fuelfilter and other parts that are in relation to pumping fuel from the fueltank to the engine and "giving" fuel "back" to the fueltank were "very filthy". So they took apart all the related parts and cleaned them. The only thing they replaced was the fuelfilter for a new one. So, good cleaning seemed to have solved the problem. Costs? One and a half hour labour (€ 120) and a new fuelfilter (€30). I took the LS out for the trips at which the problem always came up and guess what...no problems any more! Nice idle at around 600, not less (was getting used to 300, 150, zero...) I hope I made this solution clear, if not, just ask. Hopefully some of you can use this solution... PS There were indications about this problem arising at mileages above 200000 km...well, considering that parts may be poluted after so much time/miles this may sound logical now. Greets from Holland, Speedy J
  5. Bob, I am not the guy that mentioned to do that trick to prevend the car from dying but I also do that. Sometimes I even let the engine die "on purpose" by putting the gear in N, so the needle drops to zero. I then immediately ingnite again and put the gear in D to follow my way :)) This I only do on staight roads and low traffic. Coz Steering and breaking becomes tough without electronic help... Most of the times I indeed switch on A/C to boost up the idle. Last week I pointed out this thread to my dealer. They already tried to fix the problem but couldnt find anything so the next step would be to step by step replace the mechanical parts which might cause the problem. Now my dealer has ordered a new computer. Since the problem came when they changed my computer for another problem during my warranty period I guess I won't be charged for this new computer (warranty on repairs) . I surely hope the problem will be gone after installing the new ECM. I will let you know my results. In the mean time, thanks for this sollution-thread!
