Excellent purchase in my pinion John..I own a 2007 gx since new I drove it out of the showroom in june 2007 ..she now has 91000 miles and has been garage kept since new I dont drive in the rain or snow thats because I'm a fanatic ...I use my jeep on those days..this truck is the best vehicle that I have ever owned ..hands down and I am 75 years old and have owned many cars since I was 18 ..you made a great buy ..take care of it ..do your regular maint before it is due ..use high test fuel ..like shell v power etc ..ods are you will be driving this baby for many happy years ...ps there are many good videos on youtube about the GX.

I understand your concern for sure ..Ihad a similar issue re my 2007 lexus gx 470 with 81000 miles which I have owned since new..my dealer did not want to do the job as they appear to not recommend it..Iwanted to do it because after 12 years my gut told me that the fluid has to have degraded or gotten pretty dirty..I took it to a well recommended shop ..they ordered the toyota fluid and did the change ..cost me 225.00 ..mechanic let me see pan once it was off the truck and old fluid draining ..no bits of metal or whatever at bottom of pan which is magnetic..3000 miles later no issues or problems all seems ok....Before having the change done I called that radio show "THE CAR PRO" he said very clearly ..change the fluid but"BUT DO NOT FLUSH IT "..so I pass this info on to you ..I hope it helps. I HAVE 63000 MILES ON MY 2007 GX 470..I HAVE HAD A FEW WHAT I WOULD CALL MINOR PROBLEMS..I HAD TO REPLACE WATR PUMP AT APPROX 40.000 MI..SO AT THE SAME TIME DID TIMING BELT AS I WAS ADVISED TO DO..NO PROB SINCE OTER THAN ALTERNATOR ABOUT 6000 MILES AGO..ALSO ABOUT 1500 MILE AGE REPLACED BOOTS ON FRONT AXLE...THATS IT!..CONSIDERING MY GX IS 10 YEARS OLD I FIGURE ALL IS OK AND I LOVE MY GX ..THATS WHY I HAVE KEPT IT FOR 10 YEARS AND PROBABLY WILL KEEP IT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. AL I CAN SAY IN A NUTSHELL MY GX IS THE BEST VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED AND AT 70 YEARS OLD IVE HAD QUITE A FEW..INCLUDING MERCEDES , BMW ETC BUT 2007 GX470 IS THE OVERALL BEST ,COMFORT ,RELIABILITY AND DRIVEABILITY.

I recently had to replace or I should say have my dealer replace my alternator.. My GX 470 is a 2007 and I now have 62,000 miles on it I've had no problems at all with my GX other than my water pump replaced at about 34,000 miles I consider my GX to be probably the best vehicle I have ever owned it runs smooth and quiet and is extremely reliable my color blizzard pearl people have told me they can't believe its a 2007.. I guess mainly because I really baby it..plus I guess now that Im 69 years old I dont drive anything like I did at 29..I use only Sunoco ultra gas and I have the oil changed every 2000 miles or so..Iwant to keep this baby running as long as possible!..come to think of it I could say the same about myself. Great vehicle for sure.

I have had my gx470 since new june 2007...all that I can say is that this is probably my favorite vehicle that I have ever owned...it has operated without any and I repeat any problems at all..I have 58000 miles on it now and take care of it service wise very well ...change oil every 2000 to 3000 miles and other services as needed..color is pearl with champagne interior...she runs quietly and reliably...Ihope to keep this truck for another 5 years at least...all I can say in closure is that I wish that I could have and would have bought 2 ...MAN WHAT A TRUCK!!!

My GX 470 has 54000 miles....runs like the day I drove it home from the showroom...2007 looks babied and it certainly has been..when I need to relax I detail it myself..engine, interior the outside I take to dealer and they do that part..as I say this truck is lets see how many years old..6 years by my count .....and I am still in love with it...hey thats great for me..I at one time would change cars every 2 or 3 years (wish Ihad kept some of themespecially my 68 camaro) but my GX470 is the best as far as I am concerned. thanks
