    Hello

Thanks for the input Paul. I really appreciate it. As you know I have my 99 for barely a week. The 25mpg average was conveyed to me by the previous owner ( whom I fully trust) and also that is what I am seeing on the dashboard display. I haven't driven it much since I am still enjoying detailing it and staring at in in my garage and also I have my daily driver. I have filled up the tank and will check my consumption on my next fill up. I will probably run a quarter tank and check. Will keep you posted. Regards Rey

    Hello

Hi Mohammed. Congrats on your 99 LS 400. Im new here myself and I have a 99 too. I havent driven it much yet but per previous owner and I am seeing it myself I am averaging 25 mpg. How many miles do you have in yours? Welcome to the forum from Dallas TX!
  3. I see your post is over a month old. Sorry for the late reply but I just joined myself. We were in the same boat till yesterday when I bought my 99 LS with 107k . I found this guide very useful, http://www.lexls.com/info/lsgenerations.html From my research and IMHO this cars runs "forever" with proper care and routine maintenance. There are a few out there ( I'm in DFW area) with lesser mileage what is more important is the documented care/maintenance by the P.O. Good luck!
  4. Well thanks to you, I finally got what I want!! Just bought a 99 LS 400 with 107k miles one owner all dealer service records for $5.1k.I luv it! Thanks again and see ya'll around. Let me see if I can attach a pic.Hmmm I can't. Will post pic as soon as I figure out how.
  5. Wow! Thanks for the reply and great info...So I now feel better and know I am on the right track. I would be perfectly happy with your target price. Since I am probably buying my last car, I will take my sweet time> Your car and "target price" will be my yardstick. Thanks again..
  6. Newbie from Dallas and I just caught an LS 400 bug ( 94-98) with a $6k budget. Preferably under 150k miles.. I can't believe I was able to put that in one sentence! Well, let me give you a little backgrounder. I am recently retired ( 63yo) and in no need of a car. Last weekI me and the loving wife spotted a 94 LS with 51k miles one owner in a seemingly mint condition for $7.5k... Took a casual look at it and wife said she really like it and since we are just looking, why not make an offer? Without checking used car prices and not knowing anything about Lexus ( never ever thought of owning something I know I can not afford) made an offer for $6k...Ever since then I was hook! Got bit by the LS bug!!Seller never called me probably got her selling price. Good for her, sad for me! I dont need another car but I want an LS real bad. I am a little boy again drooling for a toy. Looking back now I should have offered a little more for that 94 or negotiated more instead of just writting my offer with my name and phone number. I've been online a lot and doing my research and read a LOT on this forum. Thank you so much for the infos.I found two possibilities so far but not tight on it. a) a burgundy 1990 with 122k for $5k b) 99 with 225k for $5900. Both cars are private sales and have owned them for at least 10 yrs. There are a few in between but way over my budget or of questionable conditions. Thanks for your time and replies if you have any thoughts! ReySC
