I have a '09 IS350 4 door whose front wheel rims are cutting into the spindle arms between the upper and lower control arms. This spindle arm appears to be a hollow aluminum casting that the spindle bolts to and has the upper and lower ball joints connected to it. the top of the rims (stock rims, by the way) are cutting into these arms. You can hear it in a turn as the geometry of the suspension changes and the rim leans into the arm. This appears to have been happening for some considerable time and there is an 1/8 inch cut into the face of the arm from the wheel rim on both left and right spindle arms.
Has anyone seen this before and is there a cure? Recall, TSB, anything ??? This vehicle is all stock, no mods to wheels or suspension.
HELP !!!
I think these are called the "camber" arms.
This started after it was aligned at Goodyear in Mobile AL. Could this alignment have had something to do with this??
