  1. I'm having the same thing, not very loud though, and it comes from the rear end. I thought it mind be the K&N Cold Air Intake, but coming from the wrong end and only happens when taking off at slow and easy speeds up to like 5 MPH or so.
  2. ^_^ Just joined the club, hoping to find answers to questions about my car. I just bought a 2001 Lexus IS300 from the orginal owner. The car looks amazing, and drives amazing, which is shocking since it has 155,500 miles on it. He recently did everything you could think of to the car, timimg, water pump, brakes, tires, seals, cat, belts you name it. I did the oil change on Sunday, and had a check engine light come on, only to find out it is the o2 sensor on bank 1. Took it to Pep Boys in Skokie, IL.... what idiots!!! Anyway, my questions are these: 1.) When taking off from a stop, at very slow and easy speed, there is a whine, or almost like a siren sound that comes from the back of the car. I thought at first it might be the cold air intake that was added from K&N, but the sound is coming from the back. Is that just a RWD for you? Only other RWD vehicles I've ever owned was a BMW 330Ci, but never heard that before. 2.) The swade inserts on my car are tan (ext is black) and it is starting to look a little warn, in the sense that its getting little...... whats the word I'm looking for...... you know how dress pants start to wear in the crotch area.. like that... LOL Is there anything that I can do to refresh this? They are clean, just worn looking. and lastly, how many miles can I expect to enjoy out of my car? I don't drive hard or crazy, I don't race, and I always make sure I keep everything up to date and all fluids changed. I was a little worried that I will have a big repair and almost didn't buy it, maybe transmission soon or something, but I only paid $6000 for it, so I couldn't pass it up. Thanks for any answers or comments.
