  1. Most places will give you the option to put nothing down...however, you need to remember that you will be upside down on this loan (meaning you owe more than it is worth) throughout most of the life of the loan (assuming 72 month tenor)...

There is nothing wrong with this, but some lenders will require gap insurance (insuring the difference between the loan value and the value of the car) which will add to financing costs. In addition, if you are going to be upside down you will want to hold onto the car for at least 5 yrs (so that you will at least be at breakeven)...given that this is a Lexus forum, we all love the cars, so keeping it 5+ years is not really a problem... :D

    Happy Hunting!

  2. Use premium...it is better for the engine, in general...you bought a Lexus and if you want to take care of it, spend the extra $3-$4 per tank....if you really think about it, it is a no-brainer....it costs on average $.20 more per gallon and you fill up w/ 15 - 17 gallons you are only talking about $3.00 - $3.40 more per tank.

Also, the more expensive gas becomes the cheaper the premium becomes as a percentage of the regular. In short, you really aren't saving that much $$$ by putting in the regular gas.

  3. I have a FM modulator in mine for a MP3 player. There is obviosuly a loss in quality so you have to turn up the reciever a little bit more. Also note, that if you are in an area that has an abundance of radio stations (ie. Los Angeles) then you might have to keep changing the frequency that you use (or at least this has been my experience). For example on the way to work I had to change the frequency three times (in a 20 mile drive). However, it does the job that you are looking for and at 15 bucks it is much cheaper than overhauling the stereo to add an mp3 player.

  4. I roll with a 85% (which corresponds to a 15% in the above message) and it is fine. If you want someone to see the luxuorious gentleman driving then roll down the windows. At least get the back windows done at a dark tint and lighten up the front if you want. It still looks smoove.

I live in Cali where the front windows are illegal, but we rarely get pulled over. In short, all five windows cost me $95. Dont know where you live, but if in SoCal let me know and I can give you some recommendations. :geek:

  5. I would like one that is built into the console...no need for it to hide when it is not in use. I would kind of like the screen to fit in the area where the stereo is and not look like it was done in a hurry. I am in Southern California (LA, to be exact), so I know there are a lot of places that can do it, but where and what kind of systems are the main questions.

Still, does anyone know if you can get it from the factory and have it installed? I think that might be my best option.

  6. I am in the market for an after market navigation system for my 1998 GS300. Actually, I am in the market for a NAV kit regardless. Does anyone know if you can buy the NAV kit from the dealer after the purchase? If not, are there any that fit well into the console? I want the navigation to look as seemless as possible and am willing to pay for the look. I assume that a professional installation will be necessary, but I am looking to determine if their are any models that fit without too many adjustments.
