  1. I just purchased a 93 gs300 lex with 17 inch rims. Previous owners had to take it in because it was making noise from the rear it was getting louder the faster you would to. Turned out the right rear wheel bearing went on the car. All the tires had spacers on them. I wonder if it is harder on the car using 17 inch rims?
  2. All good info guys thanks. This car is actually from my cousin. He took it in for a full service oil change at the lexus dealership a last thursday. It looks like the air filter was recommended replaced but he noted the transmission as checked. Could it be that the transmission fluid is still fine after 240k? Also Ive been searching google about tranny flush and they said to make sure that the tranny is not flushed with their machine and that the pan be removed and the filter replaced manually. Also I need to do a little body work on the hood (the window wasnt installed correctly and some water has gotten in there which has caused some rust. Is there any way to get the color of the paint of the car from the dealership? On one of the repair bills the color is noted as black/ivory this is coming from an lexas dealer. Not really sure how I can get a sample to match.
  3. Yeah Ive been noticing that alot of people seem to like the Toyota T-IV transmission fluid. Thanks for the tip. Have you ever replaced your fluid? Is it similar to an oil change?
  4. Im wondering if I should change the transmission fluid. When I accelerate and at any time let off the gas the car will kind of shudder forward slightly two times. I am definetly no car expert but could that be the transmittion trying to disengage and its catching once or twice while its tring to pull out. The car has 240k miles on it and the transmission fluid has never been replaced. Can anybody recommend a transmission fluid to use? Do i need to replace the fluid?
  5. Great, thanks for the info im picking up the car tommorrow i have to take a look.
  6. Thanks for the response. It is mostly highway miles on the engine and they had always been using premium fuel. They said that the engine does burn some oil but that would be suspected with a engine with that many miles. Would it be benificial to use some sort of fuel cleaner to clean out the engine as well? Im just wondering if anybody has gotten 300k on a lexus engine in here? How many miles do you have on yours.
  7. Hello, new to this forum. Im considering getting a 93' Lexus GS 300 240k miles. Everything has been replaced except the engine and transmission. My question is how long do these engines last? Should I be using premium fuel?
