  1. 1993 LS400- 4 months ago a used car lot took it in on trade and it was running (mileage is currently unknown). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/400-SEDAN-PA-/160915161592?forcev4exp=true That is the good picture. It has sat there for 4 months w/o starting- so the the battery is dead (even a jumper box won't start it). The back 2 tires are flat- told me they will air up. Body damage above LR tire (not bad). Last, but not least, the LR door glass was broken out 2 months ago and in Oklahoma, we've had monsoons, wind, dust, & other things. They are asking $995, they will take $700. Scraping it is worth about $200. My idea is to have them hook up the jumper box and check the mileage first. 2nd, if it is within reason, throw in a battery to see if it starts and runs. If it does indeed run and drive- offer $500 max and if they don't take it- walk off and wait for the phone call. I'd like to have it to pull my motorcycles, etc. If it craps out- scrap it. That's the story- lmk me know what you think. I'm going to have fun with it. Thanks.
  2. I am the 3rd owner of this 92 LS 400 w/119,000 miles on it with oil changes every 3000 miles. It has been owned by men who are meticulous about their cars. I actually had to wait 3 years to get the Lexus from the 2nd owner and that was only because his wife wanted a car with controls on the steering wheel. I bought it for my 34 year old daughter-in-law and she was stunned- it looks new inside and out and the chrome wheels REALLY set off the burgandy color. That's why I want to maintain it to a Lexus standard as It will become my retirement car in 10 years and I plan on AT LEAST 500,000 if not 1 million miles in it.
  3. After just buying my 92 ls 400, I've been reading about the alt & ps pump issue and have decided to just go ahead and replace them BEFORE any grief. Please give me your thoughts on brand and where to buy: Ebay & the cheapest, local chain car parts store w/unlimited warranty (OKC has O'Reillys who my mechanic & I trust), or top $ new Denso ? Also, I'm the type of guy, that while you're there replace it. What else- belt, tensioner, & ??? Thanks, Michael
