So, once again, I had to lay out big money to maintain my lexus rx 330. 2005 lexus rx 330, 125000 miles, and the mechanic told me that the front control arm has cracked bushings. Because of the poor design, the engine has to be lifted for access to the control arms. The labor is big money and the total job price is greater than 2200(most of it is labor). Did anyone have cracked bushings on their control arms? How long are control arms supposed to last? Thanks ahead of time for sharing!

I read your post on the replacement of rx 330 controller arm, thank you! You said controller arms should be good for 300,000 miles. Do you have a reference for that in a manual or news article? Can you go to a non dealer mechanic to change the controller arm? Please advise, thank you!
