  1. I found this website that has a very simple diagram of O2 sensor locations. I found it very helpful and thought others would too. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h37.pdf
  2. 1. So you are confirming there are a total of 3 02 sensors on the '95 and that I changed the correct one but that the cat may be bad? 2. How can I tell if the cat is bad? Thanks!
  3. I had a P0136 (Bank one, sensor 2). I replaced the 02 sensor after the converter. The CEL is still on! I was told resetting the CEL was not necessary? I thought there were 2 on the engine and 1 on the pipe. Is this correct? I thought for sure I was changing the correct one. Also, are all the 02 sensors interchangable? Please help! :cries: Paul
  4. Thank for the advice! You just helped me save a bunch!
  5. Sorry, it is a '95. You have to admit those posts are a little confusing. The first one doesn't mention P0136. and the second one starts off talking about bank 1 sensor 1 and later in the post you actually apologize for the confusion. But thanks for the picture. You're right once you get to that point it's pretty clear. I just wanted to be sure. Is it fairly easy to change once you've got the car jacked up? Thanks again, Paul
  6. (P0136 = Bank 1 Sensor 2) I have already searched this and found conflicting results. Does anyone know for sure which O2 sensor this is? I don't mean to be rude but please don't tell me what you think. Tell me what you know. Elazar, I just found your updated post from a while back. Sounds like you had the same problem. Did you fix it yourself? If so how difficult was it? Can anyone give me any tips on changing this myself? Thanks so much for your help. Paul
  7. Thanks, I tried that first but they said they couldn't do a pre '96. Are you saying there is another diagnostic port inside the fuse box?
  8. I get all my oil changes at a Toyota dealership and any maintenace I can't handle myself as well. I had no idea some Toyota dealerships refuse to work on an ES300 - souped up Camry?
  9. Thanks for the fast response. I found it. You're right It looks like a bear just to get to it let alone change it! I'll probably just have the dealer do it. Thanks anyway.
  10. I have a '95 Lexus ES300 with about 140,000 miles on it. I took it to the dealer to find out the cause of the check engine light. $80 later they told me it was the #2 oxygen sensor. Part = $200 Labor = $250 for a total of $450 but they will credit the $80 towards the repair. I did a little research and found the O2 sensor on top in the front of the engine. Looks simple to replace. Of course that is not the one that needs to be replaced. My question is where is the #2, and how difficult is it to replace? Thanks in advance, Paul
