  1. Yes it's covered. Had mine replaced on 2011. No charge.
  2. I think your title says it. "service,". My ES has a slight pull to the right. Nearest Lexus dealer is 3 hours away. So went to local Toyota dealer today to have alignment checked out. Saw people around a desk in service bay. Waited for 3 people to be done before I stated my business. It wasn't a service desk. Manager directed me to service desk. Stood in line with about 5 people in front of me. After 10 minutes I thought the heck with this. Also plan on switching to synthetic oil, so will have it all done at Lexus. There, I'm barely out of car before someone is opening the door for me, having a smoothie while paperwork is being readied, and someone approaching me with the offer of a nice loaner vehicle if I choose. The service is the best at Lexus.
  3. Found LOC on google. Of course the vast technical knowledge available was the primary reason, but also communicating with like minded people who have good taste and appreciate a well made machine.
  4. Welcome Dave. Was in UK about 6 months ago. London to Louth to Banbury and a score of places in between. Had a great time. Will put Nottingham on my list next trip.
  5. Love my 2011. No regrets.
  6. ES 350, but I'm partial. Agree with the others. Unless you have something to tow, forgo the truck. If I didn't have a boat I'd get rid of mine.
  7. Only have had Lexus about 6 weeks. Had some minor things taken care of at dealer about 2 weeks ago. Just checked TP at cold pressure, and all were 35.5 PSI, spare was 36. Only about an ambient temperature spread of about 10 degrees between that time. Which should only make for maybe a 2 psi pressure increase at most. So I assume they set it that high. Is this standard? Door decal says 30 psi, manual up to 32 psi if I'm hitting the autobon. Unlikely. I dropped it down to 34 psi for compromise for now. Checked it with two different quality gauges, one digital and one dial. Both read the same. I'll be traveling to Iowa in a few months, with a loaded car. Would like to get it right. Has factory bridgestones. What pressure is everyone running. Did a quick search here reading titles, seems mostly about TPMS and aftermarket. I want the quite comfortable ES ride, with good fuel economy and minimal wear. So what's the best pressure?
  8. Thanks. Informative video. What a strange oil change setup Lexus has. I have five vehicles and do all my own preventive maintenance after some of the blatant incompetence I've witnessed. Severe over torquing and stripping of oil pan drain plug threads, having to pound a screwdriver through filters to essentially tear them off from over torquing. Being short changed a quart of oil a lot! Oil change done, but they don't change the filter you pay for. If I'm in a time crunch, and have to pay to have it done, I put a mark on the filter to see if they just clean it up and try to pass it off as new. I make sure nothing is over torqued, and I shut car off and wait a few minutes to check my oil, and virtually ALWAYS tell them to add a half or full quart. Plus not getting a good drain of old oil. Soon as it stops gushing, they plug it. Even with getting tires rotated, if you hear an air impact wrench, I cringe! Checked mine afterwords and torque was 400 foot pounds before the stud snapped off. Supposed to be 90-100 ft lbs.
  9. Hello Chip. I believe thee timing "belt" is a chain in the 3.5 V-6. Transmission is sealed. There are a few u tube vids on oil changes. Don't feel bad about the questions. Should see mine a few below yours. Google is our friend :-)
  10. Thank you for the welcome. Feel silly. Like you said, was right in front of my face the whole time. Never was much for following directions lol. Looking through some of the pics here. A lot of nice looking ES's. About the only thing I'm going to do is tint windows. More of a neccessity than an option in west Texas.
  11. Hello, just joined. Purchased 2011 ES350 with nav last Saturday, still trying to figure things out. Reading through the manuals best I can before they put me to sleep. Haven't been able to find how to put MPG display up. Not even sure it has it. Read here that it should show up where the outside temp is displayed, but have found no switch or manual instruction about it. So far love the car. Fit every requirement I had for the vehiclei was looking for. Test drove Chrysler 300, lacrosse and Avalon. All kept making comparisons to the Lexus, so went to Lexus dealer and test drove one. Bought it on the spot (a spontaneous buy) and glad I did!
