  1. Replaced the clutch and the vibration and noise is 90% + gone. Anything left over may be my imagination and I am revving it up to 4-5k anyway but this seemed to fix it. Used a US made replacement, no problems in doing the switch, took about 20 minutes.
  2. Thanks, I have an idea I'm working on tomorrow. I noticed the noise and a vibration in the fan and I am replacing the clutch. It makes the same noise in park at the same RPM's and you can see the clutch vibrate at the same RPM. It wobbles a little when I wiggle it with my hand but it definitely looks and sounds like it is coming from the fan.
  3. Hi, I have a 1998 SC300, 104,000 miles, automatic. At 4000 RPM a vibration and or vibrating noise starts then increases in intensity to around 4800 rpm. It then completely goes away. I first noticed it when I dropped into passing gear on the highway, but I can duplicate the vibration/noise by just running the car in 1st or second gear up to the rpm range. The dealer just put a timing belt service in and replaced the VVTI that was also leaking. They can't seem to figure this out after several days. Mounts have been checks and cat convertors are new. Thanks for any help.
