  1. My 2011 LS460 automatic mirror on the passenger side folds out 90 degrees beyond the proper setting when you start the car. Afterwords it will not fold back in unless you get out of the car and push it back into proper position manually. It does this regardless of the position of the folding mirror switch settings on the drivers side dash panel which I prefer in the off position at all times. Whether it's set to manual or automatic or the off position, the passenger mirror keeps moving out to the timbucktu position upon start up. I'm going to try resetting all of the memory positions with both of my key fobs to see if this resolves the problem. If not I'll be disabling the actuator motor that drives this stupid mirror folding feature. Any resolution suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be dammed if I will be buying a new mirror unit and installation to resolve this feature which I don't want anyway.
  2. First of all If you value your Lexus you should not be parking in tight spaces. Secondly, Lexus has automatic folding mirrors for those who don't care if their car is dinged, scraped, or damaged by neighboring cars because they insist on parking where they shouldn't with a premium car. These mirrors have one more motor and an ECU that drives this option. This feature is an additional stupid excessive convenience that fails and costs $700 for parts and another $500 or more in labor and drives the LS ever closer to $100,000 plus acquisition cost. Park your car where it fits.
