  1. Great directions! But I have a few comments as a result of my experience completing this repair on my 2001 RX300. 1. After I got the motor out to determine the problem, I had fiberglass "splinters" on my arms, which caused irritation for a few days. I recommend slipping a plastic garbage bag over the carpeted panel that hides the motor. This worked for me. 2. Also, don't throw away the old mast and cable before you get the new one. You need to compare the new cable to the old one for length and thickness to make sure they're a match. I didn't do that and ran into problems with my first replacement ordered off ebay - turned out it was not compatible with my 2001.
