  1. Do you happen to live in hills/mountains? I'm from PA and there are hills everywhere! It's time for me to replace my tires, and I've been putting it off b/c I can't seem to find an all season tire that performs well in the snow and/or ice. I'm wondering if I should just purchase snow tires for the moment, but that can be quite costly. I do not. I have AWD and an average tire would do well anywhere on this car. I now have 15K on these tires. My report on traction, noise and comfort is the same. Still one of the best tires I've had on any vehicle.
  2. Unless you live in an area with a fair amount of new construction, or significant new highways, you really don't need to update them. Well that's true but I do want to upgrade. The price of discs on ebay are all over the place. Stealership wants $275. I found an '11 update on eBay for $70. Works great. That's fair.. Is it pretty much 'plug and play' to upgrade? If swapping out the old disc for the new one is "plug and play", then yes. Check your manual--you need to pop off the face plate where the clock is to access the nav disc. Thank you. I just bid $91 on a 12.1, #37 disc on ebay. Seems to be the lowest priced update of that year. Some are $175+. Yikes!.

  5. What do I need to do to upgrade my IS250 nav maps?
  6. My guess would be no. The dealer did it, probably for safety inspection reasons.
  7. My 2008 IS with 52K miles on the clock has the org. rotors. The factory pads were replaced around 30K miles. For normal street use go with ceramic pads. They are quiet and throw off very little visible dust.
  8. I have Continental ExtremeContact DWS's on all corners. One of the best tires I've ever driven. Very quiet, good traction wet and in snow and looks great. Only have 7K on them so can't tell you about wear yet. Not a high priority for me this time.
  9. I've used NAPA UP rotors on my Tahoe and late model Corvette with no issues. Good price and they hold up well even under a little spirited driving. Also switched over to ceramic pads for quiet and cleaner wheels. A very slight decrease in braking effectiveness, but not a problem for the street.
  10. I have used the NAPA UP rotors on several vehicles including my Tahoe and 2008 Corvette. Never a problem. I also install ceramic pads to cut down on the dust. Very satisfied with both.
