  1. Just bought me a piece of history! I now own Facebook stock!!! Pray for me. Lol.

  2. I am very disapointed in the quality of the factory radio in my RX. I had a 2001 IS300 and the factory radio was nothing short of spectacular!! I figure Lexus' 2001 model SUV would have a comparable if not beter system. I have the Mark Levinson system, I've heard the base system in a 1999 and i feel it sounds better! I have poor reception due to the fact that my antenna doesnt 't go up all the way as well. Has anyone installed an amplified hidden antenna? If so, what do you recomend as there are a tonne of choices out there. I came across one a while back that didn't need a power feed line for about $39 Canadian but now I can't find it!! Any suggestions on how to improve reception or sound quality without installing an aftermarket head unit would be greatly appreciated. Dan
  3. Thanks so much for the link! that is an excellent DIY, much appreciated! regards, Dan.
  4. Any update on this install? I'm doing the same install. Is it just a plug and play or whats involved? Also, any ideas what will happen if I don't install the DVD drive (obviously I'll have no nav) but will the radio and heat still work and will the screen light up? On your non-nav vehicle was there plugs already in place for all this or was extensive mods required? Sorry, tonnes of questions. Dan
  5. Hi everyone, I need a 16" spare tire rim for my 2001 IS300. The full size 16" steel rim from a 2001 Camry won't fit. Seems that the IS300 spare tire steel rim is specific to the IS300 only. It's $130 from the dealer. I am open to a factory 16" alloy or spare steel rim. I have tried everything and there's nothing close by, I had one from a guy parting out his car but he won't respond to me anymore? I only need one (obviously lol) let me know what you have as long as you are close to Toronto Canada so I can meet up with you. Thanks, Dan
  6. I didn't buy a new throttle body I just swapped it with another RX300 I have.
  7. ...so after posting that "how to" 3 posts back my RX still wouldn't idle after cleaning the IAC and reinstalling it! How stupid do I look now! So here's what I did; removed the IAC again this time I noticed that the valve seemed tight, like the bearings that hold the shaft were dirty, so I was able to remove the steel pressed in cap over the end and could now spin the shaft 360 degrees, so I soaked it in penetrating fluid until it spun like it was brand new, I reinstalled the IAC (yes, in case you were wondering I marked the steel pressed in piece and it went back on exactly the same way it came off)and STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE!!! I have another RX that I bought off a guy from California and am waiting on the title and ownership so just to eliminate a possible bad throttle body I switched the throttle bodies and now the idle problem is fixed. I still however need to fix my California RX! Anyone ever run into this? The IAC is pretty simple once it's apart so I don't think replacing it will solve the problem but I am open to suggestions at this point! Dan.
  8. My memory seats are not working, the buttons are dead, there is no lights or reaction from the seat. I had to remove the entire interior due to a poorly installed windshield causing a large water leak into the cabin. After the interior was reassembled the memory seats were not working. Does anyone know if there is a resync procedure for the memory? Dan
  9. Let me try and clarify all the confusion here. A lot of people are confusing the IAC valve with the black plastic stepper motor held on with 2 screws. Removing the black plastic stepper motor will do absolutly nothing to fix your problem. In order to fix the problem you need to devote aprox. 4 hours to remove the aluminum piece that the black plastic stepper motor screws to. On any RX with over 80,000km (50,000mi) the screws will be so tight that you will have to remove the entire right side throttle body (possibly the whole TB)in order to remove the screws. Once this is off then you can remove the 4 screws that hold in the actual IAC valve and clean it properly. Yes high idle and low idle can be caused by the same dirty IAC valve. Hot or cold your idle should never go over about 1800RPM. Fuel injection eliminated the need for high idles. Dan.
