  1. It could also be the lower ball joint. Mine squeaked loudly for a couple of months on hitting any bump. The rubber around the ball joint on the driver's side was torn, and it started to rust. I greased it, but must have been too far gone. It gave out in front of my house, allowing the front wheel to fold out and bend the fender. Luckily, I wasn't going down the highway at 80 mph. Lexus doesn't sell ball joints, you have to buy the whole lower control arm. Anyway, check the rubber around all ball joints and bushings.
  2. Hi David, It's actually pretty simple, to take out your radio (head unit). First pull out the cup holder located by your right elbow, while seated in the driver's seat. It's only held by friction clips. That exposes two phillips screws holding down the plastic facia (surround piece). Take them out. Carefully pry up the plastic surrounding the shift area that shows the P, R, N, etc. You aren't prying up the plastic piece that has the letters P,R,N, etc, - just the piece between that and the facia. That is held in place with friction clips as well. If you have heated seats or traction control, unclip the electrical connector. Put piece to one side. With that out, you will see four more phillips screws holding down the facia. Take them out. Now, grasp the facia by the end that used to house the cup holder you took out, and slowly lift up. The friction clips that hold it in should all let loose. Unclip the connector to the cigarette lighter. Unclip the connector to the flashers, and unclip the connector to the volume knob. Set the facia piece to one side. Unclip all the colored electrical connectors at the bottom of the radio (head unit). Unscrew the four phillips/8 mm hex screws at the four corners of the heater control/head unit. Unscrew the two 10mm hex head screws. They are located a little down from the top of the heater control, one to each side, and a little recessed. Now, pull the heater control/head unit forward, until you can see behind it. Unplug the antenna, and the two electrical connectors located in the upper rear cavity, and voila! you have it out. The head unit is held to the heater control by a metal bracket. I think there are four small hex head screws on each side that hold it. Remove them to seperate the head unit from the heater control. Good luck, goldz
