  1. Just curious if anyone has installed an after market dvd entertainment system in their RX330, and if so, which one did you choose? I am also considering the headrest dvd system too. I would like an over head system that is as thin as possible to avoid completely blocking the driver's rearview mirror. Any suggestions, including how much you paid, would be appreciated.
  2. Nope. Have not figured it out yet. I have read some things in other places that say you can disconnect a wire, but by doing so you will mess up the navigation. If I hear anything, I will post it; please do the same.
  3. I just bought an '05 RX330 with premium plus and navigation. Invoice was $39,638, I paid $40,500 and they threw in the all weather mats and the rear rubber mat too. If you shop around, I would think you could get it for around a $1000 over invoice. Try dealing with the internet sales people, they are more willing to play the numbers game and have little invested in each buyer so they are willing to make better deals. Good luck.
  4. Alright, instead of complaining about things, I am going to ask for specific answers. I have a 2005 RX330 with navigation. I would like to watch dvds on my navigation screen and I have heard that there is a way to modify the system to allow this. Does anyone know how to do this? I also want to disconnect the sensor on the navigation that tells it the car is moving to allow me to dial my cell phone through the bluetooth connection while driving. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. We just bought the 2005 RX330 with navigation. One of the reasons we waited for the '05 was for the bluetooth connectivity. It does have bluetooth, but unfortunately, Lexus has really limited its use. Here are my main complaints, and if any of you know how to fix any of them, please let me know: -You can only have one phone connected to the car at a time (not a real big issue, and may just be a product of bluetooth only being able to connect to one device at a time); -You cannot dial any of the numbers while the car is moving!!!!! For safety reasons, they do not let you dial on the navigation while moving; -They do allow you to program one touch dialing into the system, which you can dial while driving; however, for some crazy reason, when you start moving it removes all of the phone numbers from the directory. So to call someone with the one touch dialing, you have to memorize all the speed dial numbers. I have to remember that one of my buddies is number 24, which maybe over time I will be able to do this, but come on. I guess this is for safety, but it is incredibly over the top and stupid. I can glance at my navigation screen to find a phone number and hit a number while driving. -There is no voice activated dialing on the navigation. Our salesperson told us this was available, but I am pretty sure it is not. Sure would have been nice to be able to dial people with voice activation, especially if Lexus is so concerned about safety. Other than the above, the bluetooth works really well. If there is some way to remove the sensor that turns off the dialing while you are moving, I'd love to know. Let me know if you have any thoughts. By the way, we got a great deal on the '05, I was very surprised how aggressive they were on pricing. MSRP $44,808, we paid $40,500 and they threw in all weather mats, including the mat for the very back. Very nice vehicle, just a little disappointed with the bluetooth. Thanks!
  6. I have heard, through this forum, that the 2005 Rx330 will have bluetooth capabilities; however, I have also read stuff and been told that it will not. I know the 2005's should be out real soon, so we will know the answer to my question very soon, but I'm impatient. So, does anyone know for sure if the '05 Rx330 navigation will have bluetooth built in? If it is not going to have it built in, is there anyway to add it after market? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the info. I am so tired of the salespeople and the crap they feed you. If just one of them would be straight with me, I'd buy the car from them and refer them business. I love technology, so the bluetooth thing is a big deal to me. I figure if I am going to drop $40k on a car, I want it to have every gadget possible. Tough decision. I am worried the msrp will get jacked up a bit and not sure the great lease deal I lined up will still be available. With interest rates on the rise, the financing options won't be as good. The toughest part is that my wife wants it today, so convincing her that it is worth waiting is dang near impossible. She is not as excited by the bluetooth and smart key technology as I am.
  8. I am about to pull the trigger on buying a 2004 RX330 but am having some second thoughts. I am getting a great deal on the '04 with nav ($39,750). I am thinking about waiting for the 2005 model to come out. I have a few questions. 1. When do the 2005 models come out? Of course, the dealerships won't tell you, and if they do, they tend to exaggerate the date to prompt you to buy an '04. 2. What changes are there on the 2005 RX330? I have heard (through this forum), that they are adding bluetooth, the nifty keyless entry feature (not sure what this is called, the one that recognizes your keys and unlocks the door), and making the shifting headlamps standard on all models. Does anyone know for sure what is changing? Is the MSRP going up with these added features? 3. If I wait for the '05, what are the odds I will be able to negotiate a deal below the msrp? I could wait until November or so if that would help. I have talked to many dealers and all of them say nothing is changing in '05, but again, they are intent on selling me an '04. I am planning on leasing the car, so I am thinking that I might be better off waiting for the '05 since its residual value will be higher, and as a result, the payments should be lower; however, if I have to pay $4000 more for the '05, any increase in the residual value will be offset by the increased purchase price, and the net gain will be 0. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  9. No. You are not going to find an '04 Rx 330 for under $30k. You could probably get one for around the $35k range. I just negotiated the price of an '04 with Nav (msrp $44,288) down to a selling price of $39,750. So, not to far away from your goal. Also, I found a great lease deal, not through Lexus, that with $5000 down, may payments on a 39 month lease with 45,000 total miles are only $399/month. People selling their '04 Rx right now are the people that bought it right when it came out and probably paid msrp, meaning, they aren't going to price it as if the car can be bought new for $39k. I have seen '04's with 12k miles with an asking price of $38k, which is way too high considering a new one is $39,750. Good luck.
  10. I am currently negotiating a price on a 2004 Rx 330 (Msrp $44,288) and have got the dealer down to $39,750. Now I am starting to have second thoughts about buying an '04 with the '05 coming out in the near future. Does anyone know when the '05 will come out and if they will move at all on price on a new model?
